|
Parents Meeting: Alex’s father John spent his life growing up in the mountains of Tennessee, he went to college for Zoology and while there met and fell in love with a woman, who said her name was Brooke. Over the course of a few months their relationship grew, but one day Brook just mysteriously disappeared. John was devastated but finished his schooling, one day about a month after his graduation he heard a knock at the door, when he went to see who it was he found a baby on the stoop, wrapped in remarkably soft blankets with flowers surrounding it, he found a note on top from Brook that went "He is ours John, I am sorry for not being able to help but you must raise him and keep him safe, he is destined for great things, love Brooke AKA Cybele.". John then moved back to Tennessee and started working in the national park there studying the animals to supply for his new child. Early Childhood: John noticed a few things about Alex early on in his life, Alex had intense love for animals, taking in sick animals and attempting to nurse them back to health constantly, and was also extremely protective over them even to the point of becoming a vegetarian at the age of 5. Alex was also a natural explorer and loved spending time outside, spending hours exploring the woods around the house. Lastly; Alex was a natural climber, John found this out when he brought Alex to a fair in town that had a climbing wall which he then flew up it extremely quickly, much to John’s surprise. First Attack: Alex, while having a hard time with school because of his dyslexia, had a relatively uneventful life until his last year of middle school. Alex was sitting in his backyard making playing with some rabbits that had wandered into his yard the day before his 14th birthday while his father was out in the park studying some black bears. Suddenly a fire breathing horse walked into the clearing of his yard and immediately zoned in on Alex. Alex froze not sure what was happening when a man ran into the yard right after the horse breathing heavy like he had just ran a marathon, the man quickly ran over to Alex who was still frozen watching the horse and explained that Alex would have to trust him while handing him a hatchet and a dagger from a duffle bag he had on his back. Being handed the weapons seemed to snap Alex out of it and he nodded his head as the man quickly explained that he would need his help with the horse or he would be seriously hurtJacob immediately attacked the horse and with a little bit of help from Alex, mostly just glancing blows with his new hatchet, took down the horse fairly quickly. Once it was taken care of hurried Alex into the house explaining that his name was Jacob and that he was a protector, that his Mom had been a goddess, and that unless he went with him to a safe place on Long Island called Camp Half Blood, he would continue to be attacked and they would keep getting worse. Even though he had just saw with his own two eyes the attack, he was dubious until Jacob pulled off his shoes and pants exposing his furry legs and hooves. On there way to camp: Alex immediately went to his room to pack, by the time he was done his dad had returned from work. The next half hour he listened as Jacob went through the whole thing again trying to make John understand. By the end of the hour all the blood had drained from John’s face but he agreed it was probably best for Alex to go to the camp with Jacob. They immediately bought tickets from Nashville to NYC and the three of them left for Nashville the next morning. Right before they arrived in Nashville they stopped to get gas at a tiny station in the middle of nowhere. John got out to pump the gas when they heard a thump on the roof on the top of the car, Jacob and Alex immediately jumped out of the car to see a Harpie sitting on the roof, staring at Alex. She lunged at Alex who barely avoided her claws by rolling to the side and grabbed his hatchet which had fallen out of the car in the rush to get out. Jacob was running around the car trying to get to him, when the harpie lunged again, Alex swung the hatchet at what happened to be the perfect time, it dug into the harpies body and its own momentum made the blade sink even further in, and it immediately dissolved into dust. John who had just been staring shocked during the entire incident dissolved into tears apologizing for not helping. Alex, though dazed himself, attempted to comfort him before Jacob mentioned that it was not safe there anymore and they had to get going, that snapped John out of it and he rushed to get everyone back in the car, and back on there way to Nashville. The rest of the journey was uneventful, they arrived in NYC and got a rental car to get Alex and Jacob to Long Island, once they arrived there Alex and his father said their farewells, promising to call, before Jacob hurried Alex into the camp right at the end of his 14th birthday.
