His mother was strolling in the woods as she stumbled upon a man, who looked sickly pale, and she suggested that he come with her. Anastasia has always been a caring soul, and led the man to her house, where she nursed him back to health. He then thanked the woman, and asked what she would want in return, to which she replied "Someone to look after me as I grow older and someone for me to care about in return." He nodded lightly, and spent the night with her, thus bringing Daevyd into the world 9 months later.
The man identified himself as Thanatos, the god of death, to his mother, and spent a week with her, telling her what she must tell her child, and ensuring that this child came into life. The only thing he said before he left was, "You know who I am, as I have told you everything. You must tell him when they come for him, not before."
Coming into childhood, he was always a wanderer and a hard thinker, but learned to control his thoughts after several incidents in a school with teachers and a principal. He has always been one to learn something very fast, but has forgotten several minor details, and has never seen his father, but has never bothered to ask. He has always favorited war toys and games, but has hurt someone by accident (multiple times) while playing war with his friends.
During 1st and 2nd grade (6 & 7 years old), he was always a playful kid with no issues, keeping friends no matter where he went, and always seemed to be thinking about some distant object. He would normally play blocks and legos with his friends, creating things that many would want to make themselves, but have a hard time recreating.
During 3rd grade (8 years old) was when the trouble had begun, making it a bit harder on his education, but presenting no issues. He was called various names, and shunned by many of his "friends", continually mocked and disregarded as nothing. He continued with a stoic expression throughout 3rd grade (8 years old) to 6th grade (12 years old by the time he left), finally leaving grade school.
By 7th grade (12 years old), he had started playing the guitar, and copying many pieces from famous artist's, making new friends, such as Ransiten (People called him Ran though), while playing an instrument he liked. Along with friends, he had many enemies in there as well. These enemies would go around, finding people and telling lies about Daevyd and often with people listening and siding with them. They ridiculed him, laughed at him and made him feel beneath himself, but Ran stood beside him to make sure he never did something wrong. People had started making verbal threats by the middle of 7th grade, and started visually threatening him with knives at the beginning of 8th grade. He often retaliated by pulling a small plain iron dagger he had gotten from a friend, and threatened them back, making it horribly explicit with what would happen to them if they didn't stop. He made it through 8th grade (13 years old) without incident and taking his guitar and dagger everywhere with him. Ran disapproved of his methods but applauded his courage to stand up for himself and what was right.
After leaving middle school at the age of 14, he looked towards his future, and wondered where he would go then came to high school, only to be shunned as a reject and other various names they have given him, but has been repeatedly teased about his parents, calling them names not suitable for kids their age. He came home one day to see a serpent... who had a human body on top, in the living room, trying to find something. It had apparently come from the door Daevyd left open while he stormed in, in a bad mood from being expelled for harming students in a rage, from his peers offending his family and insulting his family again.
The serpent/lady decided that she couldn't find it, so continued into the next room. Daevyd pushed on the door lightly, trying to see where it had gone. She had gone into Daevyd's room. As he entered, he didn't see her in the room, as if she had disappeared. As soon as he turned to leave, he felt a burning pain on his neck and fell as quickly as a bag of rocks. He had time to see a smaller, silhouetted man come in.... With a pair of daggers. He fell into blackness, thinking his time had come.
As he woke up, feeling groggy and very sore all over, and heard a large object, probably the vase in the living room, shatter. He got up quickly, and decided to be quick about what might have to happen. He took a small dagger, made from plain iron, from under his bed, which he had kept in memento of his past and to defend himself in the present. He kept the dagger there in case anyone had broken in, like this, and crept into his living room...
... To see a small man fending off the Snake-Lady. Daevyd quickly moved to assist the man, but was knocked behind the Snake-Woman and picked himself up quickly. He looked up quickly to the back of the snake to see the man making a gesture. He moved one hand across the throat, and held up his Dagger from the hilt down as if he had a... a head. He wanted Daevyd to cut off her head. Daevyd nodded silently and moved behind the snake. The man, whom Daevyd finally recognized as Ran, his long time friend, sat defending himself with a pair of baselard daggers from the battering-ram attacks of the snake-woman, only to be knocked down by an unexpected hit. As he tumbled, the snake-woman bent over to finish him, and Daevyd saw his chance. He jumped atop the woman, driving the blade into the neck, being tossed violently. The woman continued to thrash and howl, and the iron blade snapped, forcing Daevyd off the snake-woman. Ran stood up and quickly pulled a throwing knife and threw it behind Daevyd, forcing it stuck into a wall. Daevyd saw his chance, he took the knife, made of a dull copper or some otherworldly metal, and leaped back atop the snake-woman. He pushed against the iron blade that had been jammed in her neck, and drove it further through. After several agonizing moments, the woman stopped thrashing and lay still. Ran strode up to her and quickly lopped off the woman's head. He held out his hand and smiled, "Hello Daevyd, sorry about the mess, Ms. Otounach." Daevyd looked to his mother, who looked pale as a ghost, and Ran ushered her and Daevyd into a chair and discussed all that had happened.
After talking with Ran and his mother, He learned what the creature in his house was, a Scythian Dracanae, or a snake-woman. Daevyd discovers a new camp full of people like him, some not very well loved in society, and some who just blend in perfectly. Camp Half-Blood.
His mother took a breathe to explain all that had happened before he was born, of the frail man she had taken care of, how he got him with child, and how he was a god, named Thanatos, the god of Death. She told him of his origins and his family, and told him of the camp, and what they could do for him.
His mother sent him on his way to see Camp Half-Blood, along with the lad who called himself Ran. Upon meeting Ran and traveling with him, and Daevyd learned that Ran is a guardian of Ram, also known as a Ram Spirit. Visual-Aid for the Katars. The day after they left was Daevyd's birthday, which Ran had presented him with a strange discolored Dagger, the same one he had used against the Scythean Dracanae. Daevyd took the dagger and looked at Ran, remembering their conversation. "Hey, Daevyd, you need to be able to hold your own when I leave. But don't worry, I'll visit from time to time, but you'll have plenty of new additions to your family. Now, get up, we need to train."
Deavyd had plenty of time to practice with the elongated Celestial Bronze dagger Ran had given him, as the road the the new home was plentiful with monsters and thus, training.
After several days, possibly even a week or two, as they had lost track of time, they saw the new house and began hunting and storing food for the remainder of their training days. This is where the training began for Daevyd, as they took time to hone his skill with the dagger to an even higher level than before.
He pieced together why the Dracanae and other monsters would want the locket. To keep him from the past. It was an ordinary locket, by all means, but it had a significance to Daevyd and no one else, as it belonged to his father, and thus, to Deavyd.
Days slowly went by and turned into weeks, until Ran came back with a weapon. A pair of finely crafted CB Katars. Daevyd swung them once and then again to get a feel for the pair of punching blades. He began his training and started new ways to use the Katars and dagger together. Ran looked at him and nodded "I told you, I'll be watching you from afar, I got them forged for you, since you wanted 'em."
Daevyd spends his days training alongside Ran, and waits for the day to see all of this gone. He still studies the locket, feeling a pull toward his father when he wears it, but nothing else. He wears the punching blades around his wrists (1 per wrist) and the dagger around his finger as a ring.
As they trained in the house more and more, it became apparent that they were not alone, several monster attacks occured, mostly during night, while Deavyd had to fend off hellhounds and more Scythean Dracanae, it never seemed to stop until they left the house. Even then, the monsters didn't relent, keeping Ran and Daevyd on their toes until they reached CHB.
They finally set off from the house, a month later, only to reach the camp in a couple days. They hunted wild game, and foraged for food, storing what they could, eating only what they needed, offering praise to the gods for every meal. They finally reached the camp and Ran looked up and shook Daevyd's hand on last time, before saying, "It was a fun time on the road with you, but you've got your own kind to be with now. Go on, have some fun in your life for once. Chase a nymph for me."
