Benny: Snow, snow and more snow. Benny was surprised that the camp directors didn't add any penguins or reindeer for the Christmas period. To say that he was excited, was an absolute understatement. He had another week or two at camp, before he went home to Georgia. Deciding to go out for some winter fun, he knocked on the Astraeus cabin. A few stray snowflakes fell into his hair. "Hey! Water's gonna go down my....ahhh that tickles..." He giggles, making a ruckus.
Aria: Aria could barely remember the last time her hometown in California had gotten rain, let alone snow (ugh, stupid climate change). Already she was planning what her snow fortress would look like and what the best way to shower icy doom upon anyone who told her she was too old for snow fortresses would be. Someone knocked on the door--no one in Astraeus ever knocked, they just kinda barged in--and Aria skipped over to see who their guest would be. "Benny? Benny! Come in, we have hot cocoa!" she grinned, gesturing towards the cabin's lounge area (because bringing hot chocolate into planetariums was a totally great idea). "What brings ya here, dude?"
Benny: "Whoa!...." The son of Hebe gasped as he walked into the Astraeus Cabin. The lounge was comfortable, and the ceiling showed off a series of planets and constellations. He was pretty impressed. It wasn't everyday someone saw a planetarium. "Um thanks, it was cold out there." He grinned cheerfully. "I was gonna ask if you wanted to come out and play. I thought we could have a cool snowball fight, or build an ice castle. I thought you'd like it, and I need someone to protect it, in case we have to fight any more dragons." Truthfully, Benny hoped that they wouldn't accidentally set anything else on fire, but he was still excited to hang out with Aria again.
Aria: "Ooooooh, ice castles and dragons, you say? Of course I'm in," Aria laughed. She set down her mug and dashed back to her room, shouting "Be right back!" and returning with a quick sketch of the fortress she'd been designing. "So, you know me; I kinda made schematics for a snow fort once it started snowing because I was really bored, and this is what ended up happening..."
Benny: He took his own hot cocoa and sipped it. "Mmmm this is good...." Closing his eyes, the warm chocolate tasted somewhat like the aftertase of nectar, at least to him. Perhaps he had drunk too much. "Yeah, I thought it'd be super awesome.." Benny scanned the plan briefly. He was impressed. He wasn't a slouch by any means, but Aria had been precise in her calculations. "That's so cool! So, the snow would hold up because it's packed tightly together in walls?"
Aria: "Mm-hmm, with the walls tapering at the top so we can make 'em go higher. Theoretically we could make a roof if we packed the snow tightly enough and made several supports, but that might not end so well. It's cold enough that the fort'd last for a while without melting, so we could even move chairs into it if we have enough room!" Aria folded the sketch back up and stood. "Any locations you have in mind, Benny?"
Benny: "Umm, that's awesome..." He grins eagerly, doing his best to think of places with enough snow. "There's loads of snow in the arctic arena, and we'd be near penguins, or we could go to the nearby park or look around in the woods." Benny suggested, scratching his head. "I don't mind exploring until we find the perfect spot. I can conjure up some warm nectar too.."
Aria: "Exploring sounds great! Better than the arctic arena at least, heh. Oh, the memories..." Aria trailed off, remembering the time she got lost in that arena for hours and hours. "Let's go!" she proclaimed, setting off toward the door without going to find a winter jacket first.
Benny: "Yeah, let's do it...." He followed Aria out of the door. As they walked out, their feet would crunch against the newly fallen snow. "Uh, we can try the forest. I like it there, it's quiet and peaceful..." Benny said, admiring how his feet looked in the snow. "So, how are you? I've not seen you since we had that lieutenant's meeting..."
Aria: Aria trudged through the snow, sinking up to her knees in some snowdrifts. The snow was still falling lightly, and the path to the woods hadn't been cleared yet. "I've been pretty happy here, thanks for asking! Did some training, met some new people, the usual. Though I hate to admit it, I've been a little bored lately. Somewhat homesick, too, but that's most of us, I guess," she smiled with a twinge of sadness. "You know, camp's great and all, but I just don't think I can stay here too long. Going to college, seeing the world, and having a future, they're things I'm not going to let monsters stop me from doing." Aria cleared her throat and brightened up, "But enough about me! How've you been-y, Benny?"
Benny: "Good, good." Benny shrugged his shoulders. "Umm, I'm sorry if I got distracted by Ty at the meeting. He's coming up to Georgia for Christmas, so I'm excited." He grinned, trekking through the woods to find his usual haunts frozen. "Are you going back to California? You're smart, and brave so you should be safe for a while.." He smiled, and leant down to pick up some snow and pack it between his hands. "I think this snow should be dense enough, but I'm not sure..."
Aria: "No problem, you two are adorable, haha," Aria shook her head at the memory of the two covertly sitting down next to each other at the meeting while attempting to make it look completely coincidental. "Enjoy Georgia for me! You two get to spend time in the warmth while I'll be turning into an ice cube here at camp, you lucky ducks," she huffed jokingly. Patting down on the snow, she nodded, "Yup, this is great, thanks Benny! I'll mark the general boundaries of the fort, and let's get to it!"
Benny: "Ummm thanks...." He blushed. "Ty's the head of Iris Cabin now, so I don't get to see him that much." Truthfully the two hadn't spoken much since the quest. They'd spent Halloween and Thanksgiving together, but hadn't sat down and chatted. "Can't you just make a lava lamp to keep you warm, out of plasma?" Benny stuck out his tongue. "Aye aye, I'll make the foundations and start piling up some snow."
Aria: "Lava lamps are a great idea, but I think I'll just hibernate!" Aria decided. "Though to be honest... The cold never bothered me anyway~" she sang, drawing some snow into an orbit around her. "Gotta thank my dad for temperature resistance; not only is it harder to turn into an ice cube, it also saves money on coats and heating and--" A loud rustle came from the bushes. "--What was that?"
Benny: "Sleep is good, but a cup of hot cocoa is better..." Grinning, Benny made a little mound of snow. It was very densely packed, and hard for him to wade through. His shorter stature put him at a disadvantage for once- and not just when he needed to reach something in his cabin! "Whoa....that's cool. I can do things a bit quicker but that's..." He paused, getting ready to draw his sword. "I don't know... we're still covered by the barriers right? Could just be a stray animal or nymph.
Aria: "I'll check it out," Aria whispered, edging toward the tall bushes with her guard up. As she got closer she noticed a slab of ice lodged amongst the branches, shaped like a... throwing star? She floated up so that she could see over the bushes, ready to summon a shield of stars if that different type of star happened to come flying at her face. Wow. Okay. Further in the woods there was a lady in a white dress yelling at two winged guys, one with terrible acne and the other looking like a hockey player. The wind ate away the lady's words, but Aria could quite reasonably deduce that she was extremely pissed off. While whirling around and raising the snow around her, she glanced in Aria's direction before freezing and yelling even harder. Crap. "Uh, hey, Benny, I think we have company."
Benny: "Uh-oh..." Benny peeked out through the branches, trying his best to see them. He could see two guys, one dressed like a hockey player. "Dude... that's totally rad. We should totally practice..." was probably what he said to the other guy, who did a chest bump. "Do you think we're in trouble...?" Quietly, he took a step closer. The woman was beautiful. Her skin was white and delicate like china. Her eyes were cold ice. "Wow, she looks like a princess." He blushed, putting his hands in his pockets. "We should probably go..." This was weird, and anything weird spelt trouble for most demigods. Still he couldn't look away.
Aria: "Yeah, did you see that ice shuriken over there and that snowstorm she's making? Finding a recolored Elsa in the woods is probably a divine sign to go somewhere else," Aria agreed, backing away a little. The two other members of Elsa's posse apparently had just noticed the floating head watching them and were unfurling their wings. She dropped down and tugged on Benny's jacket, "Time to run, NOW!" Lowering gravity's effect on her just enough to enable her to dash on the snow, Aria sprinted back toward the woods' entrance.
Benny: "I'm coming..." Benny darted away, as quickly as possible. He gently sent some energy towards Aria to keep her stamina up, while channeling his youth to increase his own speed. Suddenly heaps of snowballs flew through the air. "Hey, that's not very nice!" He turned back, as the winged hockey player took another shot, with what looked like a puck, made entirely of ice. This wasn't the snowball fight that he wanted. "We can try hide. We should know the woods better."
Aria: "Thanks, dude," Aria nodded, assuming the wave of refreshedness was coming from him. She managed to pull down the puck before it hit one of them and sidestepped abruptly to change directions. "There's a rock formation this way. I'll make a bunch of false trails and if we hurry, they won't see which one we take," she huffed. After sending out a beam of plasma to melt eight paths through the snow, she ran down the leftmost one. "Phew, won't be doing that again for a while," she muttered, stumbling as she tired.
"Touchdown!" Zethes yelled excitedly. Calais gave him a look. "Duuuuuude wrong sport..." Zethes huffed. "Hey! I can't play hockey with this pretty face. It'd be a disservice to cover my face." Khione rolled her eyes. "You idiots! These weird mortals have seen us and you're letting them get away!" she scowled. "Fine...." The two drew their swords and set a volley of snowballs towards the unwitting demigods.
Benny: "No prob-..." Stumbling, he was hit by one of the snowballs in the back of his head. He scratched the side of his head and covered Aria's flank, doing his best to help them both through the snow. Suddenly a hail of snowballs flew down towards them, bombarding the trenches. "...I don't know if we can fight this. Um, do you have enough energy to surround my sword in plasma? I think I can deflect anything that comes towards us..."
Aria: "Awesome idea!" she smiled. "I might not be able to keep it up much longer than a few minutes at this rate, though," she reminded him. "We're almost where they can't see us anymore, at least." Surrounding Benny's sword with a bright blue-white light to match the snow as best as she could, Aria kept running. "Past this grove of pine trees we can leave the path, and hopefully the wind blowing the snowdrifts will cover our footprints," she called over to Benny.
At the eight-way intersection the Boreads halted for a moment and stared. "...See? REALLY weird mortals!" Khione gestured at the paths, glaring as though she wanted to stab something to death. "Split up and go find these wackos," she ordered, the tone of her voice instantly shutting up her brothers, who did NOT have death wishes thank you very much. She headed down the leftmost path, leaving Calais to amble in between the middle routes and Zethes to search the right.
Benny: "Deal. You know, this is just a weird game of hide and seek..." He said, the irony not lost upon him. Benny definitely wanted to play in the snow, but this wasn't what he had in mind. "We'll take these paths, just like I did in our training match." Deflecting several snowballs with his sword, Benny hurried up the snowdrifts, as they came near a hill. "I'll try lose them in there..."
Aria: "The rock formation's at the base of the hill's other side, and it's basically a really shallow cave that'll keep us out of the wind for a while," Aria called over, too exhausted to shout very loudly. "If there's enough snow near the entrance it'll be hard to distinguish from the drifts that pile up at the bottom of the hill. Then we can be ninjas for a while until Elsa and her feathered friends decide on something better to do than attack us," she smiled assuredly, putting on a last burst of speed to run up the hill. In her haste, she didn't notice the fallen logs lying under the snow at the top...
Benny: "Okay..." He ducked his head down and did his best to climb up the hill. As they sprinted upwards, Benny caught himself on one of the fallen logs underneath and suddenly found himself falling down the hill at an alarming rate. Why does it have to be now? When Elsa is chasing me with her idiot brothers. This isn't fair at all. He looked behind him, and upon seeing the Boreads, stuck his tongue out.

OOC: Do we want to add something to spice this RP up a bit? A monster attack? Mean kids with snowballs? Jack Frost? ;-)
OOC: Gotcha :D
