1. Character Name: Kiara Natalia Quiñones

2. Godly Parent Choice // Mortal Parent: Hephaestus // Amanda Quiñones

3. Species: Demigoddess

4. Current Age: 17

5. Appearance: Her FC is Lindsey Morgan.

6. Personality: Kiara may or may not speak fluent sarcasm at first, depending what her first impression is of you. She's not really judging, but she does think that first impressions are permanent impressions. Even with that as a belief, Kiara doesn't really give a damn what people think about her. If they like her, then great. If not, then, well, that's great, too. It's not like it'll make a big impact on her life, unless you're a god, or something, in which case she... probably still won't care. The've not done anything for her, so why should she care? All her father's done is leave her weapons, and give her useful skills. That's all. With a creative and imaginative mind, Kiara's one of the best engineers you can ever meet. No to mention, she's a great mechanic, so if you've got car problems, she's definitely someone you should consider calling. While she's sure she inherited these skills from her father, she can't help but wish she got them from her mother. Seriously, she's not all too fond of her birth father. But really, there's not much she can do, is there?

7. History: Amanda Quiñones fell victim to the infamous Greek God one fateful night. The story of how Kiara is born is another one-night-stand-in-a-club story, with a drunk Hephaestus and Amanda Quiñones, and nothing about it is important, except for the fact that the God of Forging's youngest daughter (at the time) was conceived - Kiara Natalia Quiñones. While she was Puerto Rican, Amanda didn't live in Puerto Rico. She was only visiting her family at the time of Kiara's conceiving. Thus, Kiara was born in Wisconsin, back where Amanda lived. While the stranger had been able to give Amanda the daughter her husband couldn't give her at the time, it almost cost her her marriage. It took loads of pleading for him - Luke - to take her back. Inclusively, when Kiara was born, Luke didn't want to have anything to do with her, insisting that she take Amanda's name, for she wasn't his. Seeing no other option, Amanda obliged, and named her Kiara Quiñones. While she would have preferred for her daughter to take her husband's name, at least she was honoring her Latina roots.

Growing up, Kiara's life was as normal as anyone else's, except she had a knack for creating and fixing things. If the TV remote control wouldn't work, Kiara would set out to fix it, and would complete it surprisingly quickly. It was the same when it came to building things. If anyone gave her the smallest of things to play with, she'd build stuff with it, and boy was she good at it. It was what encouraged her mum to sign her up in robotics This is where her skillset began to grow and develop, and her liking towards engineering cemented.

While it was never in her plans, at the age of eleven, Kiara undertook a small job as a mechanic in Luke's automobile repair shop. She started small, getting him bottles of water or whatever tool he'd need, so long as he gave her a steady allowance. He still wasn't fond of her, and Kiara wasn't oblivious to the reason why, hence why she doubted he ever would grow fond of her. But truthfully, she didn't care. She had a loving mother, and that was just about enough for her. But back to the story, her simple jobs grew into helping her step-father with repairs, when he realized she also knew about cars (unbeknown to him, she actually had a friend who loved cars, and forced her into learning some stuff when he found out about her small gig). She wasn't of that much help, but they bonded slightly over cars. This went on and on in her "normal" life, until she was fourteen.

One day, she could have sworn an older neighbor named Jack was killing some sort of dog with a... sword? Apparently it was a sword, but Kiara wouldn't find out until years later. All she knew was that Jack and her mother had a rushed conversation one day, while they thought she was changing, before her family began to move around the globe. At first, it was just Amanda and Kiara, while Luke stayed behind to wrap up the business, and eventually he joined. He wasn't too happy at first, but Amanda could definitely be persuasive at times. The trips were nonstop, and they'd never spend more than three months in one place, which did considerable damage to their bank account. The second they realized they just couldn't handle it financially anymore, the family of three settled down again. By then, Kiara was already fifteen and a half - a year had passed.

They hadn't even spent twenty four hours back in Puerto Rico, when it happened. Her first monster attack. The one thing her mother had tried to prevent after Jack told her that one day, had happened. It was a flock of Stymphalian birds. Kiara was as clueless as ever, so she wasn't aware why the f*ck there were birds out for her blood, trying to claw her until a kid about her age popped up with two trashcan tops, banging them loudly until every bird flew away. Boy was this chick cute. Or at least in Kiara's eyes, anyways. The two girls didn't particularly hit it off immediately, but it was understandable because one had almost died that day. But between sarcastic remarks and eyerolls, it was explained that she was a demigoddess, and those things out for her blood had been monsters. Naturally, Kiara didn't believe her, and went far enough to call her a "psycho b*tch that needs to go to a mental institute". That is, until Amanda heard her, and showed up. Expecting her mum to agree with her, Kiara was surprised when she didn't.

Amanda ushered both girls into her new home, and explained how she was the daughter of a Greek God, just like Jack had told her all those years ago, and that she didn't know who her father was, and that the trip around the globe had been specifically do prevent monster attacks. All she had was a letter and a gift from an anonymous, telling her they would become weapons in due time. But who was Jack? Well, he was a son of Hephaestus (talk about ironic, eh?) who'd just left Camp Half-Blood, and had been keeping monsters away from himself and, unknowingly, Kiara. Until the pieces fell into the puzzle and he figured it out, of course. When all this was revealed, the older woman practically begged for the trained demigod that had saved her daughter to train her for a year, since she didn't want her baby to leave so soon, plus she had already been signed up for a school. Fortunately for the mother but unfortunately for the daughter, the girl agreed.

It took a year and some incidents with monsters for Kiara to be trained to the best of the other girl's capabilities. Three months in, she realized she had a crush on her trainer, and acted on impulse when her crush - unarmed at the time - was attacked by a hellhound. Managing to summon the twin katanas her father had left her in the shape of a watch just in time (all it took was some hard thinking, and bam - watch gone, katanas in her hands), Kiara dodged, parried, and struck until the thing was left a mountain of dust. It got scored her some points with her trainer, but not enough. Yet.

Six months in, and something similar happened except to her, when she noticed two harpies lurking towards her home while she was driving home from her part-time in the local repair shop, but she managed to run them over. Once parked, she abandoned the car to finish them off, which she did with some ease, thanks to her katanas, who she had taken an immense liking to. By then, the crush was reciprocated by her trainer. Another three months in, and it was time to go, but the three months had been the best of her life, just because she'd managed to have a relationship - as brief as it was - with the one and only Andrea Toubia, her trainer for the year. They broke up, sure, but they had a great relationship while it lasted.

Soon enough, Kiara wound up in front of the big house, introducing herself and getting located in the Hermes Cabin. Her plans were simple: train for a year, and then move back home, to open her own repair shop. Unless, of course, someone else wormed their way into her heart and kept her rooted to camp.

8. Primary // Secondary Weapons: She has a rolex watch that, when thought of, transforms into twin katanas.

Hey there! I'd be your claimer for the day. There are just a few points I'd like you to fix.

  • How really did Amanda and Hephaestus hit off? I mean, Amanda has a husband, so she wouldn't just go with someone, right? Please expand more on those details.
  • Fourteen is too old for an unclaimed demigod to not be attacked by a monster. Usual age ranges from 11-13 years old. Older than that and it should have a valid reason why. Plus, since their neighbor, Jack, is a demigod, won't the scent be stronger for the monsters to get to them?
  • Did Jack tell Amanda that Camp is the best haven for Kiara? If so, why didn't Amanda bring her there immediately? (Really sorry if I missed the reason)
  • How long was it since Kiara arrived at Camp? (Please be reminded of the two-week rule)

That's all I see :)

Well, firstly, thanks for checking my claim out! :D

  • Well, I mentioned it at some point, if I'm not mistaken - they met at a club. Amanda was drunk already, with poor judgement, so she slept with him.
  • Jack was alreay an experienced demigod, so he kept the monsters away from both himself and, unknowingly, from Kiara. Not to mention, it is said that while a demigoddess isn't aware of her heritage, their scent isn't as strong.
  • Jack actually did tell Amanda - that was ther rushed conversation. Later on, when the girl saved Kiara, I (well, Amanda did, but you know) said that Amanda hadn't sent her, because she didn't want her daughter so far away from her for so long.
  • Just a few days. :P

Okay, one more question: Why did Amanda decide to travel the globe? Is it to prevent attacks?

Plus, I'd recommend to you that you state in the history all the points you explained to me in your reply above. It is really needed.

Yep! And done. c:

Really sorry for this, but please, kindly state the reason why they'd travel almost around the world just to prevent attacks. And since Luke has a job, won't he be kind of opposing the idea?

Peace out \\.//
