Name: Rex Aaron Blaze

Gender: Male

Age: 14

Age at Arrival: 14

Birthday: Sep. 18

God Parent: Hephaestus, Hermes, Morpheus

Mortal Parent: Linda Blaze

Appearance: tall(5'9")medium-length shaggy black hair, blue eyes

Personality: calm and collected unless provoked, sarcastic and punny, he is a gentlemen and willing to help.

History:  His mother Linda Blaze worked at a low-paying hardware store before meeting Hephaestus, under the guise of Harry Blaze, a wealthy engineer working in New York. The two became close friends and "Harry" bought Linda a new apartment. They settled down for a few months before having Rex. Hephaestus left and when Rex was four years of age, he sent a dream to Linda, telling his secret and to convince her to bring Rex to camp, when he was older. He then sent her a godly fax message with directions to the camp.

Rex's life was almost normal for a while as Linda did everything in her power to keep him safe.  He attended four public schools and only stayed in each for little more than half a year before dropping out due to his dyslexia and the school bullies as well as a teacher who was most likely a monster and tried to kill him with extra homework. He was home-schooled for the rest of the time.

At age thirteen, Rex was attacked by a hell-hound outside his mom's apartment and managed to kill it with a celestial bronze flat-head screw-driver, able to convert in a full sword in combat, which Hephaestus had left in a flower bed. (though Rex still does not know he was the one who left it.) A month later he was almost killed by a harpy but he managed to badly injure its wing. It tried to fly away but crash-landed in a busy street where it was battered to pieces under the tires of several passing cars. (but it healed again in Tartarus) Three months later he had his first glimpse of a satyr in the neighborhood park, yet thought his mind was playing tricks on him. Later, he met up with the harpy again, in an alley behind an abandoned restaurant, and put it out of its misery but not before receiving a nasty scratch on his back from her claws.

Whenever Rex tried to speak of the encounter, Linda would pretend to suddenly be busy or just ignore Rex because she could not stand the thought of losing him and wanted him to live a normal life with her. Finally, she realized that this was an impossibility and brought him to Camp Half-blood at age fourteen.

Rex developed a habit of always carrying his screwdriver in his back pocket, as a sort of good luck charm, after his hell-hound attack, and brought it to the camp. He learned of his powers and demi-god heritage and powers shortly after arrival. By this time, the scratch on Rex's back had closed up, and was healed in the camp's infirmary with some ambrosia and nectar.

Weapons: His celestial bronze screwdriver (see above)

We need more informations. Please add at least 3 paragraphs: How his parents met, his childhood, and how he got to camp. Thank you!:)There is a crime, but no criminal. ★❣Broken❣★Jap32

Gods can't marry mortals. Please add on how his parents met and can you add more of his childhood? And if Hephaeustus would communicate with them I think it would be in a dream. Oh and he can't just have one monster attack and the attacks just suddenly stop.Cause you've got that one thing. Kookies and Kream

A screwdriver (one that's not Celestial Bronze at that) would not be enough to kill hellhounds, seeing as the smallest ones are as big as cars. How did he survive the harpy? Why did Linda pretend she was busy/ignore Rex if she knew the truth? Why would Hypnos use his power to make Rex's mother fall asleep? Did he arrive at Camp when he was 17? Take your time. I've got forever to wait -Demi ღ

Thanks Broken, Kookies, and Demi!

There's no way the mom could've known where camp was :/

Correct me if I'm wrong but he battled/fought the harpy in the alley with his screwdriver, yes? Also, like I said before, a screwdriver wouldn't be able to kill the hellhound as a screwdriver is far too small. As far as I know, harpies cannot teleport. And you still have to explain why Hypnos would put the demigod's mother to sleep. Take your time. I've got forever to wait -Demi ღ

In regard to all questions in order... @Broken fire 2 it's taken care of. @Kookiessig3 ditto @Demi-hunter13 I politely beg to differ. The PJO books clearly state that some monsters can be killed with merely a touch of Celestial Bronze. Now, obviously a hell-hound is much larger than most other monsters, but I think that a few nasty scratches and a good stab in the throat with a screwdriver (which are kind of a blunt weapon) would be enough to kill one. I'm open to suggestions, though. I got rid of the whole mother asleep at the wheel thing and I addressed the harpy issue. Yes, it was killed with his screwdriver the second time. Oh, and I changed his age to 14. @Hydrocarbon1997 There is now! Apparently, when Isis is unavailable for running messages the gods use fax.

A screwdriver.. honestly it wouldn't work that well >.< Even if it's celestial bronze. Unless you want to try poking and jabbing the monster for the next hour or so, be my guest. And I don't we had a rule here where monsters could be killed by just touching them with celestial bronze.

@Riri25 I'm open to suggestions but I don't think it'd be an issue. I mean, if your life was in danger and you only had a screwdriver to defend yourself with, you'd find a way to use it. And... a screwdriver's essentially a dagger, right? And those killed a lot of big monsters in the books. I'm really just trying to do something creative. He's the son of Hephaestus. He's good with machinery and engineering and he fights monsters. So the screwdriver is practical in two ways.

Dagger's didn't kill nearly as many monsters as swords did, dagger's are horrible as main weapons, I mean Percy had a sword, not a dagger. Also a screwdriver doesn't have as nearly as sharp a point as a dagger would, so it would take a lot more force to stab and do any real damage. Also, adult hellhounds can be as large as garbage trucks, a screwdriver is usually around 8 or so inches long, odds are if you're that close to a hellhound to even remotely be able to stab it, he'd have his arm chopped off first. In my opinion, it would make a lot more sense to say that Hephaestus left the screwdriver for him and that it already was made to turn into a CB sword. Hello Sweetie! The Doctor is in.... @BachLynn23 You, Sir, make an excellent point. That is a good idea. Thank you, Sir! (If my calling you "Sir" seems weird to you, I can stop.) I have addressed this. @anyone who told me the screwdriver on its own was a bad idea, I now realize you were right. I was... less right! (movie quote) Sorry for thinking I knew more than I did and getting to big for my britches about it. I apologize.

haha, xD it's all good, here is your official welcome to the wiki, congrats :)
