Personality:

Romeo is stubborn, sarcastic, and outspoken. He is firm in his beliefs and isn't swayed easily. He won't take anybody's crap and isn't afraid to tell people off. While he can easily make enemies with his aggressive nature, he can also make friends when he wants to with his charmisa. Romeo is quite the charmer from his model-like looks to his to die for French accent to his effortless ways of flirting. Romeo even has a way of making smoking look good. Some would say he's the whole package. Romeo is quite the curious teenager despite his "I don't care about anything" attitude. If something or someone catches his eye, he will immediately set out on a mental quest to find out more about it. While Romeo is your typical badass, he is also extremely passionate. If anything he loves is being threatened, he will go to all lengths to protect it. Romeo would risk his own life to save someone he is passionate about, if there was someone. While Romeo attracts many girls, he doesn't really care about the attention. He just wants to find someone who doesn't care about his looks. He wants to find someone who interests him and excites him. Romeo is tired of being lonely and simply wants a friend, though he'd never admit it. Romeo generally doesn't like stupid people. "With intelligence comes arrogance" as some would say. Romeo is extremely smart and has a wide variety of knowledge. He takes pride in his IQ and tends to come off as arrogant with his constant need to correct people and prove them wrong. While many people see Romeo as a shallow, wannabe bad boy, he really is a much more complex person on the inside despite his efforts to cover it up.

History:

Romeo Dominic Maunier was born on April 1 to Matthieu Maunier and Apate, the goddess of trickery, in Brignoles, France. Matthieu and Apate had met in a small cafe where Matthieu was working at the time. They immediately hit it off, and it didn't take long for Matthieu to fall head over heels in love with Apate. The two were only together for a few months before Apate became pregnant with Romeo. At this time, she still hadn't told her lover about her true identity. To him, she was just an ordinary girl named Violet. Once she gave birth to Romeo, she knew that she would have to leave soon. Apate stayed for a little while longer, but finally faced the fact that it was time to go when Romeo was about 3 months old. She explained everything to Matthieu. She revealed her true identity, told him about the powers Romeo would soon posess, and explained what Camp Half-Blood was. Matthieu was heartbroken that she had to leave, but understood that she couldn't stay any longer. Much to his dismay, Apate took off, never to see him again.

Romeo grew up to be extremely close with his father, as he was the only family he had left since he couldn't even remember his mother. Matthieu was yet to tell Romeo about his mother as he thought it wasn't time yet and he was too young. Romeo looked up to his father. He admired how he was able to raise him and provide for the both of them as a single father. They were as close as ever up until Romeo was 11-years-old. Matthieu was driving Romeo home from a friend's house at night. It was the day before Christmas Eve, and the roads were bustling with last minute Christmas shoppers. The pair were sitting in the car at an intersection when the light turned green for Matthieu to drive. Just as he began to move forward, another car came out of nowhere, slamming into Matthieu's car. The other car had run a red light as the driver was texting while driving, not paying attention. Romeo had been sitting in the backseat and was buckled in so he narrowly avoided any serious injuries, but his father wasn't so lucky. Matthieu died on impact, and Romeo was left an orphan. Romeo was devastated. He didn't understand why such a horrible thing was brought upon him. Of all people in the world, it had to be him. What had he done to deserve this? What had his father done to deserve this?

Romeo was taken away from his home in France and was shipped off to the U.S. to be put into the foster care system. He hadn't spoken much since his father's death. What was there to say? Romeo was depressed at a very young age. He was passed from foster home to foster home, never getting adopted because of his anti-social nature that had come as a result of his father's death. When he was 13, Romeo had been placed in his fourth foster home so far. He was determined to stay in this one and to make his temporary family like him. One day when he decided to go on a walk in the woods that were behind his house. At the time, Romeo lived right by the sea so he wandered over to his favorite spot in the woods: a cliff overlooking the bright blue waters below. He had been there many times before to unwind and clear his head. Romeo was watching the crashing waves peacefully when he heard a strange rustling in the trees behind him. Romeo slowly got up to investigate, when a black stallion surrounded by flames leaped out of the trees, bounding towards him. Romeo's first instinct took over him: run. He ran for his life for a little while before realizing he couldn't outrun this beast. He had to be smart. Romeo changed course and ran straight for the cliff he turned around just as he reached the edge, the horse coming straight at him. Just as it was about to unleash its wrath and burn him to death, he hopped out of the way, watching the horse run off the cliff and fall into the waters below. Romeo ran home as fast as he could and was quick to tell his foster parents about what had happened. They wouldn't have it. They were convinced that Romeo was crazy, and refused to foster him any longer. This destroyed Romeo. Why wouldn't they believe him? He swore on his life he wasn't making it up. No one would listen to Romeo.

Romeo continued to be passed from family to family. He had given up on actually finding one family and sticking to them. He felt invisible. Romeo felt like no one really cared for him. He was lonely. Romeo began to hang around the wrong crowd since he knew no one would care enough to notice. It started off with little things: a stolen candy bar from the gas station or a cigarette every now and then. However, his criminal acts quickly escalated. He decided to steal a watch from a jewelry store in the mall, but was caught to no avail. Romeo was put in a juvenile detention center for a year from when he was 14 up until he turned 15. He was released on account of his "good behavior". Romeo was back in the foster care system. However, his bad behavior continued. This time, he was more careful about being caught. Romeo went on with his life as usual up until he was 16. There were no more monster attacks, oddly enough considering a demigod's scent is stronger after their first attack. This was probably because of how Romeo surrounded himself with bad people. Although this wasn't really a good idea, it proved to work for him as well because the constant smell of smoke and alcohol were able to mask his scent to a certain degree.

Romeo was 16 when he met Clayton. Clayton was in fact a satyr, but Romeo just saw him as any other teenage boy. Clayton did his best to be friends with Romeo and get close to him, but Romeo only pushed him away. Clayton's oddly optimistic attitude creeped him out. By this time, Romeo probably should've been at Camp Half-Blood already, but the year he spent in Juvie threw his life off course. He didn't encounter any other monsters up until shortly after he met Clayton. He was walking home from school when he was cornered into an alley by a hellhound. Romeo was sure he was going to die when Clayton came out of nowhere to save the day letting him narrowly escape the giant dog and taking him straight to Camp Half-Blood. Clayton explained everything to Romeo from his mother to the monster attacks. Romeo was confused out of his mind, but realized there was nothing else to lose and went with Clayton to camp without protest. Romeo just turned 17 and has been at camp for about 2 weeks.

good claim so far, a few points to iron out

  • How long did Apate stay with them in total? Remember, gods/goddesses don't stick around long.
  • How did he get into the American foster care system? I don't think france normally ships kids to foreign lands.
  • After his first attack, and with increasing age, his smell also increases. Thus, he would still need at least one monster per year. How did he deal with them? You don't have to go into detail, generalizing is fine.

Mamamoo1  is coming back for you~

The Foster Care system is something unique to America. There are few systems similar outside of the U.S. There aren't very many active orphanages nowadays- they're old fashioned. Therefore, as far as I'm aware, it isn't uncommon for a child to be put in the foster care system in America, especially if they are fluent in English. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is correct. For the first attack issue, I stated that from the age of 14-15 Romeo was in a Juvenile Detention Center, so even though his scent was in fact stronger, it would have been unrecognizable with the hundreds of thousands of people he was surrounded by everyday in such a secure facility. It would be impossible to have been attacked by a monster in this time. I fixed the Apate time thing, however. Hope this is good! :)

This claim is practically ready! Just one last thing—

  • The detention center excuse is brilliant, but he was only there for ages 14-15. In your next paragraph, he's already 16... meaning he spent a whole year without a single monster attack. If you could come up with/clarify a reason as to why this happened, this should be ready. Maybe the whole "hanging around the wrong crowd" can be played to your favor. You could say that Romeo was constantly surrounded by many of those mortals and thus masked his demigod scent. :)
