“Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.”
He has a certain shrewdness, which makes him quite capable of reading people and situations in order to manipulate them to his liking. He is particularly observant, taking into consideration even the smallest details of his surroundings in order to better understand and deal with challenges and is not above using cheap tricks or questionable tactics to ensure his own survival. Being singularly ambitious, Lucas also has a remarkably tenacious will that allows him to overcome virtually insurmountable obstacles and accept inhuman burdens for the sake of his ultimate goal. He has considerable pride that will not stand for having his humanity insulted or condemned by his enemies, but he is also capable of shelving his pride if it becomes something that will stand in the way of his objective.
This is largely due to a sense of duty that Lucas holds at the center of his being. His dream to be the king of the Olympians, he strongly believes that his primary responsibility is the protection and advancement of his kinsmen. He understands that a king's right to rule is granted willingly by the people and strongly takes to heart the idea that the people are served by their liege, rather than the other way around. In keeping with this sense of "noblesse oblige", Lucas is very protective of his kinsmen and comrades, refusing to allow any harm to come to them and often deeming their safety more important than his own in spite of his own personal ambitions and goals. He has to be reminded several times that his own safety is something upon which many people depend and uses his loved ones as his primary motivation when all hope seems lost. As such, he becomes furious when observing those who willingly or remorselessly cast aside their own comrades or brethren and is sickened by the idea of superiors who reject their duty to those who trust them.
Elizabeth Edge was a swimming trainer in Miami when she met a fisher who had fallen off a boat, she had pulled him onto the surf board and she did life support not knowing that the guy was healthy and was staring up at her in shock. When she realised this she had blushed furiously and apologised over and over as they went onto the boat but he just laughed it off and introduced himself as Lucas and after a few minutes he had asked her out.
After a few dates they fell madly in love but when Elizabeth announced she was pregnant Lucas had disappeared into the blue with only one request, that she names the child after him, but after he had left Elizabeth began to despise him for his abrupt exit and when Lucas was born she raised him to hate his father which he gladly accepted.
He went to primary school after primary school after being stalked by people with weird facial features and was constantly attacked by them though no one believed it was them that attacke him when it was the other way round, this happened mostly when he was ten to twelve.
Five years later, he was sitting in his French class when his substitute teacher came and got him into trouble for something he didn't do and the teacher dragged him out of the room and into an empty classroom.
After a couple of seconds the teacher suddenly started to grow into a half lizard thing (emposai) and attacked him but the janitor was near and came running in but had goat legs and Lucas backed into a wall. The janitor and the teacher fought and after the janitor had grabbed a knife and stabbed the teacher in the chest. The janitor smuggled Lucas out and whilst in the Janitors car he explained the Gods and how he was going to camp. Lucas knowing instantly who his father is after the way his mother had met him and Lucas instantly hated the Gods even more but never expressed his feelings to the satyr.
When they arrived just outside of camp, Lucas got out and knocked out the satyr with a heavy stick, bit more of a small log really, that was lying around the hill, the satyr was taken by surprise so he didn't fight back and went out cold after a few more hits.
He went through the Gods and Goddesses, thinking that one of them was his father but yet after how his father had left his mortal mother as if she was dirt he wanted no connection to him. But where else should he go? He ran into the forest surrounding it, not wanting to go to camp and eventually found a small river, and bent down to drink when two people appeared out of midair, Lucas stumbled back and the two looked at him then the other and took out their swords and Lucas stumbled back.
The two guys yelled at him to pick up a sword and fight but after a while they realised that Lucas has never been to camp so they demanded for him to explain his history which Lucas hesitantly did. When Lucas said his feelings to the soldiers they took to BC where he has been ever since.
