History[]

Lin Zhang was a child of Ares whom was too poor for college. Her mother was bankrupt as soon as the two reached America. This forced Lin to drop out and find a well paying job. She went from fast food restaurants to department stores to even working as a nanny. While she was walking down the street to get home, she saw an ad for an anchor lady. She applied for the job and was called back the next day.

Lin worked there for about 2 years before a guest meteorologist came on. The two talked in the office and immediately didn’t see eye to eye, until Aeolus revealed the fact he was a god. She was flattered, but knew how gods operated thanks to her demigod mother. She hated the idea of having to raise a child—especially because her family had ENOUGH problems. She didn’t need to spend all the money she was making on a baby who would probably have a negative one chance of ever meeting her dad; ‘’even’’ after getting to camp.

But Aeolus used his godly charm to bargain with her, promising Lin amazing riches and treasure if she agreed to make love with him and bear his child. And so she did. Lin bore a child nine months later and named her May. Lin raised May in a large gated community since Aeolus had blackmailed Plutus into blessing Lin with a large influx of wealth as long as she was raising May. Lin would easily receive very well paying jobs, win whenever she played the lottery and normally found money and precious items . She put the money to good use and put May in a private school. May was a smart student and was favored by all of her teachers. She was kind to all of her classmates and spoke only when she needed to.

Making friends wasn't a large problem for May. Even though she wasn't popular, many people came to her to ask her questions about class and tutoring lessons. Her mother tended to be distant towards her, constantly getting busy with work and everything.

When May turned 13, she was walking home from the library she had just finished a late night study since midterms were the week after. As she walked along the streets, she heard an inhuman snarl. A hellhound popped out of nowhere from a nearby alley. May screamed when it charged at her and ran in the opposite direction. Fortunately, her mother had planned to pick up, Lin always had an awful sense of time so she’d normally show up late for things. She easily slayed the beast with her Celestial Bronze axe. After explaining the concept of the Greek world to May, she began training her daughter personally. Being somewhat too clingy and overprotective to send her to camp.

The next two years, May and Lin began to grow closer. May wasn’t used to this mother/daughter bonding since it was normally her grandmother who bonded with her. Over that time, Lin began to get sick and easily tired. May always inquired why, but Lin would always claim she was fine and change the topic. Lin was dying of leukemia, but just didn’t have the heart to tell May. So when she was 15, it was a complete shock when Lin died of the horrible disease.

May went to live with grandmother for the next year, heartbroken by her mother’s death. Her training allowed her to fend off any monsters. She never bothered about this “camp” her mother would always tell her about. Not seeing the point of going, but she soon was the target of a large flying dragon when she was 16. She had figured out some of her powers at that point, able to attempt to fly from it.

Fortunately a group of demigods had been hunting down the beast. Being sent on a quest to slay it so it wouldn't be able to devour more demigods and satyrs in the local area from reaching Camp. One of the questors, Shane had used his powers to send the dragon’s flames into Oblivion. Being a son of Lethe, he shadow traveled her to safety while his allies vanquished the beast.

After it was taken care of, Shane and his friends decided they were better off taking May with them back to camp. She reluctantly agreed and followed them where she was quickly claimed. During her first few weeks of camp, she felt like she owed Shane her life. Shane had quickly formed a crush on her, but May ended up in a love triangle with herself, Shane and his half-brother Jace, son of Mnemosyne. May was truly tied up about her feeling for both boys, hating to see them constantly fight over her.

Not too long after, May’s father had sent her off on a quest. She wasn't too happy, but she decided going and winning the favor of her godly father was in her best interest. May wanted people she could rely on, Shane was the first person she asked to come with her. Jace had managed to convince her to allow him on the quest as well.

Shane wasn't happy about it at all, especially since Jace was hogging all the glory by slaying monsters and impressing May. He always bragged about how he didn’t need him. So eventually, Shane’s envy and rage caused him to walk out on the group. After he left however, the two were attacked by a cyclops and Jace ended up receiving massive head trauma.

After returning to camp, May resented Shane was letting his brother get hurt. The love triangle was resolved as May had fell for Jace. The head trauma caused him to be even more selfish and sexually ravenous than before. He soon after raped May, when Shane heard about it. He beat his brother to near death and claimed he would kill him if he ever saw him again. The incident made May realize Shane was the best guy for her. So she ended up dating Shane after Jace left camp in shame and defeat.

After they had both been 17 for sometime, they left camp to get married. Ignorant to the fact that Jace had fell into an alcoholic depression and died in a car accident. But Mnemosyne was furious, if Shane never left Jace in the first place. May would've never gotten raped and Jace would still be alive. They were happily in love, blissfully unaware of his death. Which only fueled Mnemosyne’s rage. She yelled at Shane and Jace’s father Carter, claiming he should have more control of Shane.

Mnemosyne came to May while she was sleeping and cursed her memories. Making her think Shane was the rapist and that he killed Jace and forced her into marriage. Wanting to avenge her poor son. This had happened while the two were on their honeymoon, May was horrified and scared. Leaving Shane, cancelling the marriage and going to live with her grandmother for two years. Letting that time pass, she decided to give camp life a second chance. Quickly returning and hoping to leave her past behind.

Powers[]

Offensive[]

  1. Children of Aeolus have the ability to create a small tornado, about the size of the user, which can be sent across short distances to knock opponents off their feet or used to send small debris flying at opponents.
  2. Children of Aeolus are able to use air itself to slice objects, focusing a current of wind to the point where it takes on a sharp edge, which the caster launches at foes. Although this attack does usually slashing damage, some users are able to focus it into single piercing stab like a bullet.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Aeolus have the ability to create a dome shaped torrent of wind, roughly two or three times the size of the user, which can be used to block attacks for a very short time.
  2. Children of Aeolus have the ability to create powerful gusts of wind, however, the stronger the gust, the more it drains them. The gusts can be used to block incoming attacks.

Passive[]

  1. Children of Aeolus feel stronger when they are touched by strong winds they did not create.
  2. Children of Aeolus are innately able to lower air resistance and move faster on the ground, granting them an enhanced level of speed.
  3. Children of Aeolus can contain more air in their lungs than the average human, allowing them to survive longer when they cannot gather oxygen.

Supplementary[]

  1. Children of Aeolus have the ability to hover or fly, however, the longer they fly the more it drains them. Due to their rare ability to lower air resistance, users are able to fly faster than anyone else with the ability to fly.
  2. Children of Aeolus have the ability to call upon the winds to speed their movements or attacks; conversely this can also be used to slow the movements or attacks of others.
  3. Children of Aeolus can use the wind to either surround themselves to block enemies and projectiles or to surround an enemy trapping them within the winds. The longer they maintain the wind, the more it drains.
  4. Children of Aeolus can curse an opponent by draining some of the air from an opponent’s lungs and make it somewhat hard for them to breathe for a short time. This leaves them vulnerable to attack or giving the user a chance to flee.

3 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Aeolus can create a massive tornado, about five times the size of the user, which can be used to violently assault others with strong winds and debris.

6 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Aeolus can turn the air into tools, objects, weapons and other items, create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence; however, only up to 3 combative/non-combative items or 1 semi-living construct can be conjured at a time and it cannot be larger than roughly 3 times the size of the one that conjured it. The longer they maintain combative/non combative items and semi-living constructs, the more it drains their energy, so they are more limited for the time they can keep these things cohesive.

9 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Aeolus can shed their flesh and turn into pure wind, while in this state they are immune to attacks, can fly even faster than before and receive enhancements in their existing aerokinetic abilities. Once the transformation subsides, they are extremely exhausted. Barely able to move and could possibly faint.

Traits[]

  1. Children of Aeolus are known to grow up to be amazing meteorologists, as they know all the current weather going on in a certain area.
  2. Children of Aeolus typically enjoy flying and high places, enabling them to become astounding pilots and hot air ballooners.
  3. Children of Aeolus are often claustrophobic when in tight places or underground.
  4. Since their father presides the four directional wind gods, children of Aeolus have what could be described as a mental compass. Able to tell where the four main directions are most of the time.
