James Queen, such a ambitious individual who hardly had any expectation as to what he'd become. He had a fairly normal life and at the age of 25 it seemed her had a good life ahead of him. He had a degree in childcare and a stable job in a nearby shop. However, one night out he met Nemesis and the two had a fling. Nothing too bad, right? Well, in 9 months time he had a bouncing baby boy which he named Oliver. Having a fairly small flat, he wasn't worried about the burden of a child, in fact, he rather enjoyed it.
A year on from having Oliver, James ran into Eris and Tyche who'd be conversing at a local bar. Things led to other things and 9 months later again, James had a daughter with Eris, and twin sons with Tyche. Now finding a strain on his life, he moved back in with his parents until he got on his feet. Roughly a month and a half after moving in with his parents, James got a stable job and moved out, he soon met Pandia, and small things led to bigger things, and 9 months later, James had a daughter with Pandia.
Ollie was always a sweet kid who likes to impress his father, he loved drawing for him, but he wasn't all that good and James didn't act like a normal father would which would be lying and acting like it was good. No James laughed at Ollie, ripped the picture in half, burnt it and told Oliver how much of a failure he was. Never the less Ollie would keep trying, kept fighting for his fathers approval. He would usually shout at Ollie as well because he found him annoying and a waste of space. This made Ollie cry and so he formed the hidey hole behind his wardrobe.
Years later when Ollie was around 7, his father had a large stroke of bad luck. Life seemed against his and that it was out of balance. His car broke down, he lost his job and nothing good ever happened and so he thought this was Ollie's doing. He would beat Ollie, mostly on the arms and sometimes face. He broke Ollie's nose once and both arms twice. After getting treatment in hospital Ollie was told to say that he fell out of a tree by his father.
The school had started to become suspicious of these kids as they had started turning up to school with many bruises and had started making a habit of constantly missing school for days. One day, a teacher of the school turned up to see if they were okay. James was out of the house but blood was all over the floor and the teacher phoned Social Services immediately.
When the five were 12, 11 and 10 respectively, they were taken in by social services and put into a foster home or taken to live with relatives. The way in which James was found to be abusing them was when none of them showed up to school one winter's day. Their senior school, slightly concerned as the four usually loved to come to school for obvious reasons, went to their home to try and convince the four to go to school. Upon finding them, the staff that came from the school were shocked and instantly reported James. Then the siblings were separated. Oliver went to foster care, Claudette went to their Aunts house in Canada and Jesse and Jonas went to their grandparents.
Ollie felt abandoned he had only turned 13 when all of his family had left him to rot in this, dirty, old foster home. The others were 'saved' they went to caring family members, but none had room for Ollie. He didn't know how he felt. His brain was a mix of hate, anger, regret and self annoyance. Had he done something he didn't know about? Had he, for some reason became undesired by his family. He knew his father hated him, was this true about the rest of his family?
So Ollie's life become just a recurring day. He'd get up, fight for some good breakfast, go to school and come back. Ollie wasn't a high achiever, if anything he was a low one but his one dream was to move to America. He still got money, all over the year from family. He never got any on his birthday so he assumed that they just didn't know when it was or didn't care. He would get, round about £20 every 2 months. He thought if he got a ticket, and flew to New York, he'd be able to get a job or something and live by himself.
One day, when Ollie was walking back from school, he was round about 13. He was walking along, he didn't really have any friend, he much preferred to be alone. So any ways he was walking along when he heard a rustle behind him. He ignored it and kept walking, then after some time he turned around. There it was, the ugliest thing he had ever seen. It must have been the size of a small van, he assumed it was a dog, it bit and tried to take off his head but he ducked and ran for the care home. All the other kids laughed, because in their eyes he was running away from a pug. He was scream when he came through the foster home's door.
Luckily for Ollie the owner of the foster home was a Mr. James who was a trained demigod. He'd had and idea that Ollie was a demigod for a long while. He asked Ollie what was wrong and Ollie explained that a huge ugly ass dog was trying to kill him. A second later Mr. James left through the door and a sound of metal hitting metal echoed through the door. Mr.James re-entered and behind him a pile of dust in the courtyard.
Ollie didn't really encounter any monsters after that, because Mr James looked after him. On Ollie's 15th birthday Mr. James gave him a small bronze sword and one ticket to New York. Ollie was speechless, he gave James a huge hug and thanked he, though the sword thing confused him. Later that year Ollie flew to New York where a man was waiting for him. He told Ollie that Mr. James had booked him a place for kids who had had a rough childhood to go, Ollie trusted Mr. James and so he followed the man to the cab. After some time Ollie came to a bottom of a wooded hill, he climbed up and at the top found a huge stone arch. It read Camp Half-Blood. Ollie shrugged and walked through into his new life.
