Alexander sits underneath the awning of the coffee shop in town. The harsh cold of the New York winter has brought down inches of snow, but Alexander keeps himself warm with a cigarette hanging gingerly from his lips. Since his departure from camp, he made little attempt to disguise his smell from the searching noses of the world's monsters. The cold stiffening his muscles forces him to manually think about every action he takes, but it doesn't bother him. The extra thoughts are keeping him awake. His sleep has been erratic lately. He inhales again on the cancer stick before reaching down and extinguishing it in a nearby snowbank.

A puff of smoke accompanies every word as they leave his mouth. As the smoke disappears, all that hangs in the air is his question.
Lolli had a letter to send to her father and everyone said the nearest postal was in the center of town, across the street from some coffee shop. She'd found the shop, but no where in her line of sight is a postal service. The cold air bites her finger tips and makes her ears burn; she hadn't prepared for the temperature to drop so rapidly. She sighs and you can see the water vapor as her hot breath battles the freezing temperature.

In truth, Alexander was going to follow her regardless. It couldn't hurt to try to do it the less creepy way first, though.
A part of her wants to say no, but she also doesn't want to get lost again. She could feel her body freezing over and the sooner she deliveres the letter, the sooner she can get back to her warm cabin bed. So, she offers him a hesitant smile and slides her letter into her purse, that way if he gets weird she has a none threatening reason to reach in. Also, her hands are freezing, so in her pockets they can now go.
