Theo Green ~ Son of Ariadne
Jordan-verhoeve-4

"Passion is a narcotic. Too little, and your life can be quite painful. Too much, and it will take over your life."
{{{1}}}
Character's Bio

 Age: 16  Height: 6'1"  Weight: 160
 Sexuality: Gay  Relationship Status: Single
Main Weapon: Two dual swords disguised as a pin
 Accent: New York
 – "If only life was like a maze, where if you mess up, you can turn back around. But It's not. So It's a good thing I don't mess up."

Character's Powers

 3/6/9 month powers unlocked

Offensive[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have the ability to cause someone to believe that they are trapped inside a labyrinth, disrupting their senses into seeing anything else for a short time. While under its effect, they become more vulnerable to attacks.
  2. Children of Ariadne, while a labyrinth is summoned, have the ability to create 1 to 3 lesser monsters (those classified as “easy” in the Monster Encyclopedia) nearby them within it; these monsters, however, will not be controlled and will attack anyone they see.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have the ability to create a large portion of a labyrinth wall to protect themselves until it corrodes after a short time. The walls can be created at all directions to create an absolute defense, but drains more energy from the user. Conversely, this can be used to imprison enemies.
  2. Children of Ariadne can cause a person to feel/be lost, as if they don’t know how to reach their desired destination and wander off aimlessly which may induce distress, confusion and loss of concentration, for a short time. The effect can be used on a larger number of people, but drains more energy.

Passive[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have the innate ability to find their way through/around any sort of puzzle, maze or obstacle without any aid, as if they have a psychic compass within them. They are also able to perceive any kind of hidden obstruction, trap or dead-end within a 10 meter radius around them.
  2. Children of Ariadne have the innate ability to see in multiple directions at once, allowing their senses of sight to become more finely attuned to their surroundings.

Supplementary[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have the ability to create a real labyrinth which traps anyone inside it for a short time. The user has total control over the creation, such as altering and closing its walls or even expand the maze at any time. However, a larger maze will consume more energy from the user. The maze has a roof over it and cannot be teleported out of.
  2. Children of Ariadne can conjure a very durable wool string that can be used to navigate around a place, mislead or ensnare victims, bind or strangle enemies, hold or suspense things firmly, weave fine cloth or in any way possible. The longer the string, the more energy it drains. The string can also be conjured from the ground or from any surface.
  3. Children of Ariadne can increase or decrease a person's passions, whether the purpose is to weaken one’s will to fight, or to motivate them to do a certain hobby or to love, etc. The longer this state is maintained, the more energy is drained from the user.
  4. Children of Ariadne are able to teleport themselves through the mazes they created. The further the distance traveled, the more energy drained.

3 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have the ability to construct paths out of materials found around them that they can use to take them anywhere (up into the air, over trees, etc.) but as they move along the path, the path behind them slowly corrodes. The longer they use the energy required to make a path, the more they are drained.

6 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have the ability to enchant a localized location into becoming an illogical, yet illusory, maze which traps anyone inside it. With this ability, the user can cause a building’s passageways to lead somewhere else such as an upstairs flight lead to the basement, a closet room lead to the rooftop, lead a door back to itself, and so on and so forth. The larger the area of effect and the longer it is held, the more it drains the user.

9 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have the ability to materialize a shadowy form of the Minotaur into existence which is capable of both fighting and dying under their control, in a sense; afterwards, it will vanish and drains the user extensively. However, the Minotaur conjured is weaker than its real counterpart would be.

Traits[]

  1. Children of Ariadne have an excellent sense of direction, and are able to navigate and locate any location with ease, rarely getting lost.
  2. Children of Ariadne are typically willing to help others, even to strangers.

  2. Children of Charon have the ability to summon a shade from the Underworld, which will instantly begin wailing and stun anyone who is not intangible for a short time before vanishing.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Charon can cause a person to feel/be lost, as if they don’t know how to reach their desired destination and wander off aimlessly which may induce distress, confusion and loss of concentration, for a short time. 4. Children of Charon have the ability to see perfectly in the dark.
  5. As Charon is an Underworld god, children of Charon can enter and exit the Underworld as they please. They can also enter and exit Tartarus as they please instantly rather than the usual time it takes to get in and out of there for other people, which are nine days and nights.

Supplementary[]

  1. Children of Charon have the ability to Shadow Travel, to teleport from shadow to shadow; the further the distance, the more energy drained.
  2. Children of Charon can bend shadows around them, concealing them for a short time.

  4. Children of charon can telekenetically move coins with their mind.

3 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Charon can mediate contracts or oaths between two people or parties, by enchanting a coin and keeping it in their pocket. The oath is somewhat like the oath on the Styx, however it can with great difficulty be subverted or broken. If the oath is broken, the child of Charon is alerted by a burning sensation created by the coin.

6 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Charon can cause someone to hallucinate that they are drowning in the River Styx, causing them to feel lost, confused, and extremely panicked for a moderate period of time. However, the illusion isn't physical and therefore is only a trick of sight. The bigger the change in perception, the more power drained.

9 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. In rare cases, children of Charon have the ability to conjure the water one of the Five Rivers of the Underworld (Phlegethon, Lethe, Styx, etc.), no larger than 2 to 3 times the size of the user, which if it hits someone, will have the river's effect. (Phlegethon will burn, Lethe will cause amnesia, Styx will cause hatred and agression towards self or others, Acheron will cause pain, and Cocytus will cause intense depression and emit screaming sounds)

Traits[]

  1. Children of Charon often feel comfortable in boats, water, and the dark.
  2. Children of Charon are natural navigators and often become ferrymen/sailors/etc.

The Deep Woods[]

Theo: "You said you needed to talk privately, and I thought we'd combine it with the other thing you said about going on an adventure. So I figured we'd take a trip into the woods," Theo said, talking to Benny as the two boys walked through the forest. Theo was wearing Jeans and a button down shirt, which he left unbuttoned. As he walked, Theo summoned a string behind them so that he and Benny would be able to find their way back. He was planning on straying from the path, but Benny didn't know this yet.

Benny: Nodding, Benny followed behind Theo. Today, he was wearing a plaid shirt, khakis and hiking boots. "Sure... it'll be fun. We can be explorers!" He took a few steps. Ty had calmed him down a lot, but he was still a little shaken up by the whole experience that he had with Courtland. "I was gonna tell you what happened with Courtland... it was interesting but weird, like really weird." He smiled warmly and jumped down from a rock to the soft ground.

Theo: Theo laughed. "Alright, whatever you wanna call yourself is fine with me." Theo nodded seriously at the mention of Courtland. "I already know kid. I watched the whole thing. Courtland knew I was there. He could like, sense my anger aura or something. But I couldn't approach you guys. He put like a veil of energy around you two so I couldn't get close. It was weird. I couldn't figure out how to break it, so I just watched. Made sure you made it out of that trance he put you in ok." Theo looked at Benny for more information. "You were making noises. You said something about me and Lazarus and something about WIl and Alex. Were you hallucinating? What did you see?" Theo was increasingly curious but also concerned for Benny's safety.

Benny: "Wait, what? You followed me...?" Scratching his head, Benny glanced up towards Theo. "Umm, that's pretty much what happened. I was in this weird hallway with all those doors. I opened one and there Wil was, dying like Alex was. All I could do is say goodbye." He paused a little at that. "I dunno, I saw everyone I cared about in some form of danger. I saw you and Laz fighting, but then I trapped him in an invisible box, and then I saw my dad and Alex talking about me." The son of Hebe frowned. "I still miss him, y'know, and I don't think I could let anything happen to you, or Laz or Tyler. But seeing Wil die was the worst."

Theo: Theo laughed, slapping his friend on the back. "Of course I followed you. I am an Ariadne kid, remember? That's sorta what we do. Just like Lyssa kids drive people mad. Like Courtland did to you." Theo said, half joking. "I know kid. Maybe I should pretend to die, just so I can see your sympathy in action?" Theo laughed again. "Nah, just kidding. Yeah, you don't die either kid. Not on my watch." Theo stopped talking for a minute as they walked, before starting again. "Who knows, maybe one day you'll see him again. You never know with all these gods and magic and shit around."

Benny: "Hey! Watch it." Benny giggled, as Theo slapped him just a little too hard on the back. "I know but you don't have to be so mean about it. Mom keeps you from looking like an gross old man." He stuck his tongue out and stuck his hands in his pockets, feigning a sulk. "Yeah, it's weird cause I think I like Wil. But I dunno. I think it'll probably work itself out. Being a demigod is weird sometimes. I think it's cause the gods and magic are generally really weird. But I hope I'll see Alex again. He was nice."

Theo: By this point, the two had strayed slightly fron the path. Theo wasn't surprised by this at all. In fact, he had known for a while, as he had seen Benny's passions for Ty clash with those he had for Wil. "Benny, these things don't usually work themselves out. You might want to adress those feelings. Usually it means something's wrong in your relationship."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth was sitting on a large rock up ahead of the two boys. She had her blonde hair down, and was wearing a black dress. Her eyes were closed. This spot in the woods was where she had been coming for a few weeks now, as it was as close to the twelve olympians cabins as she could get without easily being noticed by campers. SHe liked the idea of metephoricall y being closer to Ares again, but didn't like being interrupted.  Evesdropping on their conversation, Elizabeth butted in without leaving her rock up ahead. "You know child, your friend here is right. Something is probably wrong with your relationship. But right now, you are interrupting mine. May I ask what exactly you are doing here?" Elizabeth stood up to face the two explorers. "Well?"

Benny: Too caught up to notice that they've strayed off the path, Benny's more than surprised to hear Elizabeth's voice. "Why does everyone assume I'm a kid? It's not fair." He looked up to see the girl in the black dress and tilted his head quizically. "We're explorers. I come here all the time with my friends, to go play. Sometimes we even find cool bugs and treasure and...." He cut himself off and bowed his head a little, when realising that he was babbling in front of a stranger. "Sorry, we can go if you want. I didn't mean to disturb you, but can I ask what you're doing here? Are you a nymph? I've seen them around but you don't look like any I know."

Elizabeth: "Oh little one, how naive you are. You're lifespan is but a little speck of dust on the timeline compared to me. I have lived for centuries, and you, a mere, I would guess, 13 years? And no, I am not a nymph but rather a being much more powerful. My name in Elizabeth. I like to consider myself an adopted sister of Ares. I have been prohibited entrence to the campgrounds, but I come here to be as close to Ares as I can. This is where I come to tell him of my day and pray to him. This is the one place I have found where it seems he will answer my prayers." She put her hand out as if for Benny to shake, but retracted it before Benny would have a chance to take it. "You," she said, pointing at Theo. "Son of Ariadne I presume? Legend has it that you Ariadne children don't get lost. So what are you two doing out here, really? So far from the safety of your camp? Because there is no treasure in these woods."

Benny: "No, I'm nearly fifteen. That's the age of a man in Sparta. I just look young because of my mom. She's Ares' little sister. So I guess that makes Ares my uncle. I've never met him but I'm sure that he can be nice. Heracles was pretty nice when we met." He shrugged his shoulders, trying not to look completely perplexed by the situation. He glanced across to Theo, looking for guidance on what to do. "Umm.... does that mean you're an Amazon? I've never met one before, but that would explain why you don't look hundreds of years old... cause weren't they daughters of Ares. Wait, I got it.... maybe you're a Hunter of Artemis, but I thought they'd wear armour. Your dress looks too pretty to stain slaying evil monsters." The son of Hebe said, speaking while he thought. If he was scared of her, it probably didn't show. "You're not gonna hurt us, are you?"

Elizabeth: "A child of Hebe? Interesting. You have your mother's eyes. Well little paidí, I am flattered at your assumptions. The Amazonian Warriors are skilled fighters, and ruthless. Just my type of girls. But unlike them, I don't worship Ares. He trained me for 400 years. And yes, he is plenty nice, if you can prove to him you aren't worth killing for sport." Elizabeth smiled mysteriously. "Im a going to hurt you? Of course not! Your friend here says he can protect you remember? So I guess that since he is the Ariadne child who took you out here, I'll hurt him instead. Elizabeth took three dolos coins out of her pocket, and they hovered in the air. She sent one of the coins flying at the speed of a bullet at Theo's head, so it grazed his ear. The coin then flew back to join the other three coins, levitating above Elizabeth's hand. The girl smiled.

Theo: Theo put a hand to his ear. It was wet. Blood. Theo at first didn't know what to make of Elizabeth, but she had just attacked him. This girl had just crossed a line. "You want a fight. You got it." Theo created a small labyrinth around the three of them.

Benny: Labyrinth walls enclosed the three of them. Benny grasped his dinosaur bracelet, ready to activate it should he need to help Theo. Although she seemed nice enough, 400 years of training with Ares wasn't something to ignore. "We don't have to fight each other." He yelled. "I like speaking with you."

Theo: Theo was obviously past talking. "Outta the way kid." Theo pushed Benny behind him, and summoned three hellhounds, which snarled as they got ready to pounce at Elizabeth. They were black with red eyes and all the size of horses. Then, they charged.

Elizabeth: Elizabeth pointed at the beasts and yelled. "Aposýromai! Prépei na fýgei!" The beasts stopped dead in their tracks. They turned, faced Theo and Benny, and ran past them, most likely running throughout and getting lost in the labyrinth. "Feeble attempt, but I appreciate your effort." Elizabeth smirked.

Benny: As Elizabeth banished the hellhounds, Benny went to grab hold of Theo and heal the small cut on the side of his ear. "Whoa, how did you do that?" He gasped before remembering where he was, between the two older fighters. "You've already shown us how strong you are. Ares wouldn't find honour in fighting someone younger." He shrugged his shoulders, and extended his hand to shake. "Can we call a truce?"

Elizabeth: Ignoring his outstretched hand, Elizabeth walked towards the boy and crouched down so their eyes were at the same level. "Persephone taught me. And we can do whatever you want sugarplum. But whoever said we were fighting? I was just having a little fun. Also, Ares fought me for two centuries with no mercy before warming up to me. And I'm younger than him. So from now on I wouldn't go around making assumtions about things you know nothing about. But sure. Why don't we call a truce? I won't attack you, and you can come with me back to the Broken Covenant."

Benny: Awkwardly, he retracted his hands and held them right behind his back. "Wait, Persephone taught you? Does that mean you're her child, or a kid of the Underworld?" Benny asked curiously. He knew that only certain types of demi-god could go down there and come back. "Thank you. I know it's a game but I don't want anyone to gert hurt... His eyes widened slightly and he reflexively took a couple of steps back. "You're with the Broken Covenant? I think I'm okay right here..."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth smiled at the boy. "Indeed she did. And you were on the right track. I am Elizabeth Peirce, daughter of Charon. Although I have spent the past four centuries on Olympus. I know all the gods quite well. Including your mother. Nice lady. She's one of the better ones. They taught me much. Think of all I could teach you... And as a demigod there must be someone in your life who you have lost and whould do anything to get back... I am a child of the ferryman. I could take you to Persephone. We are on good terms her and I. She can make Hades listen to your plea."

Benny: The son of Hebe stopped in his tracks. She was a daughter of the ferryman. Was that even possible to go down to the Underworld and have Hades listen to your plea? If he was smart enough, he could work out a way for Alex to come back to life, or at least let him know he was sorry. "Um... I guess I'd like to find someone... but... I can't. My friends are here, and I won't abandon them. It's not what a hero would do."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth made a sad expression. "And you're friend down in the Underworld? He could be in the Fields of Punishment for all you know. Are you just going to abandon him? Do you think that a true hero, if they had the opportunity to save their mother or husband or friend from the Underworld and from Hades' wrath that they wouldn't take it? How do you think you friend would feel knowing you could have saved him, but were too afraid of Hades and the Broken Covanent to do so?"

Theo: Shit. Theo knew Elizabeth was rapidly convincing Benny to go with her. He needed to do something. "Benny..." He said, as Elizabeth spoke. "Benny she's lying. She has to be."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth was hurt by Theo's comment. "Lying? I would never lie. Especially about something as serious as this." And in fact, she hated lying and betrayal. She was telling the truth; she could take him to the Underworld to Persephone.

Benny: "But what if she isn't....? He died protecting me Theo, I could put that right..." Benny glanced towards Elizabeth. All three of them were playing a dangerous game, probably more so than the previous exchange of powers. "I'm Benny Carraway by the way. How would you be able to save him if he was stuck in the Fields of Punishment?  It didn't work for Orpheus."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth smiled. "Well, that depends. There are two ways we could go about it. The civilized way, and the less civilized way. The civilized way is legal, but it only gives us a chance at saving your friend, which depends on what Hades decides. And he can apparently be quite moody at times. You and I would enter the Underworld and wait until Hermes arrives with a shipment of souls. He knows me, and is a greedy one. If we pay him enough he would bring us a boat to use to get across the Styx. I know my way to the palace. There, Persephone would be waiting for us, as I would notify her ahead of time. Then, you ask Hades for your friend back, or a moment with him, or whatever you want. Or, we take that same boat, and go find your friend ourself, hoping we don't get caught. That's the less civilized way. The fields of Punishment are off of the Walls of Erebos. I can get you through them easily. One of his children has an amulet he can lend me to deal with that. Any other questions? Still don't believe I can free your friend?"

Benny: Benny nodded. "I believe you Elizabeth but I don't think I could do that. I've never thought that I could have someone's fate in my hands like that, and I don't know if I want it. Choosing to let him live or die, that's power that I shouldn't have, that only the gods have," He paused. "Theo, what should I do?"

Theo: "Honestly kid, I'm not really sure this time around. I don't think the gods are so great myself, so I never thought the BC was that bad. I just never disliked them enough to join. But if you join kiddo, I'll join with you. Be by your side the entire way, whatever you decide. If you really want this, I would take it. Chances like these don't come 'round very often. Gotta take advantage of them when they do, ya know?"

Benny: "I don't know Theo. It doesn't 'feel' right, y'know. Mom told me to remain true to my youth. I guess that means I should trust myself, and it doesn't feel right. I believe you Elizabeth, that you can do it, but I don't want anyone to get caught or Alex to get into trouble." Benny paused for a moment. "Maybe, if things were different, he'd still be alive. You wouldn't need a Broken Covenant and everyone could live in peace. We could be friends, I'd like that. But it doesn't feel right this way, I'm gonna speak to him again someday, but there's gotta be another way."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth chuckled. "Oh child, you are defiantly your mother's daughter. Always trying to find another way, the easy way, out. One day you'll learn that nothing in life has an easy way out. Well, nothing important anyway. You really know how to let your friends down. You are definitely the son of a goddess. Just as our godly parents abandon us, you are abandoning your friend. Just when I didn't think you could abandon your friends more than you already have by letting him die, you dishonor his memory more by dismissing an opportunity as great as the one I offer." Elizabeth looked at Theo. "I pity you and anyone else who has this disloyal fraud for a friend."

Benny: Grimacing, Benny did his best not to cry or fight back. "I'm my mom's son, and I'm proud of that. I may not be the bravest or the smartest or the strongest but I look after my friends. I'd never say anything to hurt anyone's feelings and I'd never risk anyone's lives, if it wasn't necessary." He braced himself, channeling his energy to his muscles to increase his speed. Quickly, he grabbed ahold of Theo's arm. "I'll think about it, but thank you for the offer. Maybe I'll see you again."

Theo: Theo was pondering what the girl was saying. She definately had ultiror motives, but she seemed extremely powerful. It would be bad to have her as an enemy, but he couldn't risk alligning himself or Benny with her. "Yeah, maybe we'll see you again."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth smiled at Theo. "Oh sugar, I guarantee it. Elizabeth loved dramatic exits. I'll leave you with a parting gift. Consider it, say, a signing bonus. I know you'll say yes in due time. At that moment what must had been fifty golden drachmas came out of her pockets and began to rotate around her in the air, faster and faster till it seemed like she was surrounded in a blur of gold. All of the sudden, the coins fell to the ground, and Elizabeth was gone.

Elizabeth had shadow traveled to another part of the forest. "Boy do I love dramatic exits that reveal a woman with power, she said, laughing to herself. Silly boy 'll see I'm his shot at greatness soon enough. I wish I knew why the Broken Covenant insist I recruit him though. He's one stubborn boy."

Theo: Theo ran over to the stack coins. "Benny! We're gonna be rich! There's gotta be like fifty drachmas here! You know what kinda shit I could buy with this?!" Theo began stuffing as many coins as he could into his pockets. "All we gotta do is find this mystery girl, get her to turn into coins for us, and we could be millionaires!"

Benny: "C'mon, let's get out of here..." Benny tugged at Theo's shirt sleeve. "And put those coins down, they could be cursed or enchanted to mess with us." Once ready, he'd use his enhanced speed to run back to the safety of the camp as quickly as possible. "She could still be out there Theo. I don't think she wants to hurt us, yet. But I don't trust her."

Theo: Theo put the coins down and made a puppy dog face at Benny, as if mocking him. "Aww... But mom..." Theo said sarcastically. Theo got serious once more though. "Yeah, she's definitely got something up her sleeve." The is tone changed one more. "But if we can find out what, maybe we can trap her and make her generate a bunch or these coins that aren't cursed and then become rich!"

Benny: "I don't want to be rich. I want my friend back." Benny said, quietly thinking to himself. He slowly started to walk in the direction of Camp Half-Blood. "Money isn't important, but this could be dangerous. We just said no to a member of the Broken Covenant. You know we could get in trouble for that." He paused. "I almost said yes to her offer, but I couldn't. It didn't feel right..."

Theo: Theo looked at Benny skeptically. "Benny, everyone wants to be rich. And it seems like this Charon demigod chick might actually be able to help you." Theo squared down so his eyes were at the same level as Benny's. Theo stared the boy in the face and told him what he thought. "Look if this girl can help you, screw the rules. Just be careful and maybe we can end up using her instead of the other way around. Trust me kid, I know she's cryptic and creepy, but she seems pretty damn powerful. She'd make a great ally. Look, I'm not telling you not to listen to your gut; this chick has definitely got something up her sleeve. But you shouldn't just dismiss someone so powerful like this. This chick could change your life for the better or the worse. Think about it first."

Benny: "Um, I think you're kinda right. I know that it's dangerous but I think I need closure. Maybe speaking to Alex will help me get over what happened, and perhaps I could find Laz too. Then we could all settle down and live like a happy family..." He said optimistically. As the two talked, Benny took a detour towards the nearby waterfalls which should cover up their conversation. Sure, they weren't gonna break any rules but he didn't want to be grounded at camp. "I mean... if you're willing to go with me, I wouldn't want to put you in that amount of danger... but stealing him away doesn't sound right... maybe if we're lucky Persephone or Hades will be in a good mood and we can get away without too much trouble."

Theo: Theo's face showed little emotion when Benny brought up family. He had always had a mixed feelings about his family. Then, he smiled. "Yeah kid, maybe. And I'm not letting you go anywhere without me. I'm right beside you all the way kiddo. Now, how do you suppose we find this Charon chick?"

Benny: Benny scratched the side of his head. "Umm well I guess she came to find us and try to recruit us into the BC or whatever, so she should find us. If not, I guess we could try and trace her down by sending her a message or putting a tracking charm on her coin, but I think that's the easy part. Are you sure that we'll be able to navigate the underworld safely? What if it's a trap, or Hades doesn't help us?"

Theo: "Well, I guess we could wait for her to show up. But that's what she's expecting. I mean, if we can find her, it'll throw her off guard and it'll show her that we can throw her off guard just as she tried to mess with us. I can summon a string that should bring us right to whoever she likes to hang out. And it sounded like this girl was sent to recruit you for the BC, and you specifically. Or else why would she bother trying to make a deal with you? We can tell her we'll go with her if she navigates the underworld for us. And it sounded to me like Persephone was going to force Hades to help us. Don't be so skeptical kiddo. Just go with it, one step at a time."

Benny: Benny sat down on the ground, deep in thought. He looked back up to where Theo was standing. "Yeah, you're right. I know it's gonna be difficult but maybe it's for the best. Worst case scenario, at least I tried to find Alex and help him out." He smiled sadly. "What're your thinking? Are you all right with this? I trust you Theo, but I don't want you to think you have to protect me. We have to trust each other, if we're gonna keep each other safe."

Theo: Theo placed a comforting hand on Benny's shoulder as he sat next to him. "You said it yourself that Alex is most likely in Elysium, the land of heroes. And do you know how he got there? By taking every chance possible to train you and keep you safe. I intend to do the same. So yes, I will be protecting you. But that doesn't mean I don't trust you. Benny I trust you with my life. If I didn't, we wouldn't be friends."

Benny: "I guess so. If anything happens, will you tell Dad I'm sorry?" Benny paused for a moment. "I wouldn't ask but you're like my big brother, and I think he probably sees you that way too." He curled up a little, as the weight of the world was on his shoulders. "We'll have to prepare, and say goodbye to those we're leaving behind, while we have time."

Theo: "Sure kid. But it isn't gonna come to that. I won't let it." Theo would die for Benny, and Benny knew that. But Theo couldn't figure out why Benny was so afraid of the Underworld.

Benny:  "I know. I won't either." Benny promised. "I don't know what we're up against. But I'm glad I don't have to do it alone."

Theo: "Are you going to tell Tyler and Wil where you are going? They know you pretty well, so they'll know something is up when you get all sentimental and shit with your goodbyes. But they could try to stop you. They will try to stop you, if you tell them. Or worse, they will try to come along too. So if something happens, they are a part of it as well. So what are you going to say to them exactly? It is for this reason that I personally don't think goodbyes are a very good idea."

Benny: He paused for a moment. "I owe it to them both. Courtland's hallucination made me realise that I care too much for Wil to not tell him; and I owe Tyler the truth too. They're good guys, but hopefully they'll realise that I've gotta go on my own. I could leave them something connected with my magic, so that they know if I'm okay or not." Benny said, with a shrug of his shoulders. "I can leave quickly if I have to."

Theo: "By truth, do you mean, you're going to tell Tyler about how you feel about Wil, and confess to Wil your feelings for him? Because that, that would be the actual  truth buddy. And I think having the guts to tell the both of them how you truly feel is more magical than any object you could leave them."

Benny: "Umm... yeah. Wait, you know?" Benny looked away, his cheeks turning bright pink. "I mean, I love Tyler but I think I loved Wil the first time I saw him. I just didn't realise until it was too late. Aphrodite must love all this drama." He smiled sadly. "I'll talk to them tomorrow before I leave. I should go. I have to make sure I'm ready for this."

Theo: Theo laughed. "Of course I knew kid. I've know you too well not to have noticed. But It would get by just about anyone else; you hide it pretty well." Benny really didn't hide this well at all but Theo didn't want to make the kid worry. He had enough on his mind. The poor kid. "She must," Theo said, responding to the Aphrodite comment. And it doesn't matter it you are ready. What matters is that they deserve to know."

Benny: Benny nodded briefly. "I was talking about the quest. But I'll talk to them before we go." He stood up awkwardly and scratched the side of his head. He was scared, but did his best to put a brave face on. "It'll be an adventure! I'll make sure we have enough clothes and food for a few days. I can make ambrosia but burning alive doesn't sound like a good idea..."

Theo: "Kid, clothes and food probably won't help you much in the Underworld. What you need is a child of Hades. Apparently they have really been the only demigods to ever get something from him without him asking for anything in return. Also, booze, if you plan on an adventure. Lots of it. To keep the monsters off your scent." Theo stood up after Benny, and started to head back in the direction of his cabin. "I'll see you tomorrow kid. Bright and early. North side of the woods. We'll find this chick and then find Alex. Don't be late."
