Urban Arena

Urban arena
  • This arena is essentially a small abandoned city, overgrown with vegetation and some of the buildings crumbling in decay.
  • Located in the middle of the arena is a small abandoned park, with a pond
  • This arena has all the typical things you'd find in an abandoned overgrown city, everything from flat surfaces to small buildings to tall skyscrapers, some crumbling, some still standing, lots of dark places to hide, including an underground subway tunnel. There are abandoned cars, and things can still be found within the buildings, perhaps even a few stray cats or dogs, or some smaller creatures such as rats and spiders.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements
  • This arena also possesses a more rural arena, possessing large mansions, estates and houses.

Pre-Fight (1 Post Each)[]

Kiel 武志 ~ Son of Poseidon 水
Zaphkiel3
Coming earlier than promised time, it was close to sunset when the son of Poseidon entered the Urban Arena. Fortunately, he spots a working motorbike near the park; thus, he utilizes it, riding the vehicle to coordinate himself with the area. This is going to be interesting. He makes sure to stop near good sources of water. After a few rounds, he can mentally picture the overview: a park in the middle of the city, a electronics shop to the left, a barren parking lot to the right, a train station and sewer opening to the north, and a recreation center (pool, gym) to the south. Being a son of Poseidon, Kiel jumps into the park's pond to relax himself. While waiting, Zaphkiel reinspects his attire, which composes of the following: a leather breastplate over a white long sleeved polo, black biker jeans, and a pair of combat boots. His left pocket contains a square candy case containing ambrosia cubes; the two gold ringed earrings, which transform into his swords, are still attached to his right ear.
Character's Bio

Age: 22  Height: 6'0 ft.  Weight: 165 lbs
Sexuality: Heterosexual  Relationship Status: Dating Daphne Wang
Birth Place: Taiwan  Main Weapon: Tsunami: Twin Hooked Swords
~The Sea's Ambitious Predator/Head Counselor of Cabin #3

Character's Powers

Powers of Son of Poseidon (No 3/6/9 month powers):

Offensive[]

  1. Children of Poseidon can fire a powerful blast of water from their hands, equivalent to that of a fire hose, which evaporates after a short time.
  2. Children of Poseidon have the ability to conjure and freeze small amounts of water into durable ice weapons, which can be used for combat; however, only one weapon can be conjured at a time and it cannot be bigger than the one who conjured it. They can also make small non-combative objects out of ice.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Poseidon can create an area around themselves that inflicts others with intense seasickness, making them dizzy and nauseous for as long as they remain inside. The user must keep their focus on maintaining the effect for the duration.
  2. Children of Poseidon can turn their body to water for a very short time, letting an attack pass harmlessly through them. This can cause extreme dehydration with repeated use.

Passive[]

  1. Children of Poseidon can breathe, are swifter and more powerful, and can heal slightly faster while underwater.
  2. Children of Poseidon can keep themselves and everything they touch dry in the water, unless they choose to become wet.
  3. Children of Poseidon can survive falling from any altitude as long as they land in water, and can go as deep into the ocean as they desire without any effects from the cold or water pressure.
  4. Children of Poseidon can communicate with and command equestrian animals, as well as all creatures that dwell in the sea.
  5. Children of Poseidon are innately less inhibited by severe wind and precipitation.

Supplementary[]

  1. Children of Poseidon have the ability to create minor earthquakes, large enough to knock anyone nearby off their feet, for a few seconds.
  2. Children of Poseidon are able to telekinetically move water at a high rate. The larger amount of water used, the more energy it drains. This can be used on ice, but is much more difficult and draining.
  3. Children of Poseidon are are able summon a specific horse, pegasus, or sea creature directly to their position, regardless of distance. This only works on creatures that they have a strong personal bond with.
  4. Children of Poseidon can calm, strengthen or influence the direction of the winds, though to a much lesser extent than children of Zeus or the anemoi.

3 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Poseidon have the ability to create a torrential rainstorm overhead, which will downpour and cause high winds over a large area. The storm will gradually clear over time, and afterward the user would be substantially drained.

6 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Poseidon are able to shape a semi-living construct out of water, no larger than 3 to 4 times the size of the user, that fights for them for a short time. The user is weakened while the construct is active, and the longer they maintain the it, the more energy it drains.

9 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Poseidon are able to transform their bodies into a state of pure water for a short time, becoming immune to most attacks. The hydrokinetic abilities they already possess are enhanced by this state, and they are capable of covering great distances in an instant while underwater. The user will be extremely drained once the transformation ends, and could possibly faint.

Traits[]

  1. Children of Poseidon always know their exact coordinates when in water and are able to innately feel the difference between freshwater and saltwater.
  2. Children of Poseidon normally have a love for water, and generally excel at water sports.
  3. Children of Poseidon tend to be favored by animals of the sea.
  4. Children of Poseidon often have a natural affinity for horses and many grow up to become equestrians.

Beckett Riley ~ Chord of Dischord
100x-100x

The worst thing you could do is tame the chaos inside you. It's like being told not to feel when you're thrown into the fire.
He enters the arena slightly after Kiel. He examines the urban area around him, taking in the arrangement of buildings and possible excape routes during an attack. He holds to curved celestial bronze swords He wears a dark hoodie and sweatpants for easy movement. Beckett sees a bicycle on the side of the road. He gets on it and rides around the arena, looking for Kiel.
Character's Bio

 Age: 14  Height: 5' 6"  Weight: 130 lbs.
 Sexuality: Straight  Relationship Status: Single
Birth Place: Hartford, Connecticut  Main Weapon: Two curved Celestial Bronze swords
 Accent: None
 – There's chaos out there, and chaos means opportunity.

Character's Powers

Offensive Children of Eris have the ability to focus an intense beam of chaotic energy which will burn any organic matter it touches. Any inorganic matter it touches begins to slightly break, warp and disintegrate. Since Eris could be considered a war goddess, her children can decrease an opponent’s strength and combat abilities for a short time, leaving them vulnerable to attack. Defensive Children of Eris have the ability to create a field of chaotic energy around them for a short time, which stuns anyone who steps inside of it and deflects attacks. Children of Eris can become resistant to all types of physical attacks for a short time. Passive Children of Eris are innately stronger in times of battle or any other kind of chaos. Children of Eris emit an aura of chaos and discord, making people around them more likely to misbehave and start fights. They can shut it off for a long time if they wish. Supplementary Children of Eris have the ability to force a state of confusion upon another person for a limited time, allowing the child of Eris to attack or flee freely. Children of Eris can create a short lived “storm of strife” which causes everything within it to change, warp, or break. The effects are random, but typically powerful and can stretch over a wide area depending upon the amount of energy put into it, the larger the field, the more energy it drains. Children of Eris have the ability to cause a group of people or animals to become irrational and fight amongst themselves for no reason for a short time. Which can give the user a chance to attack or flee. Since their mother was depicted as a winged goddess, children of Eris can sprout wings for a short time, this enables them to fly; the longer they maintain this state, the more energy it drains. They must rest between flights and cannot make long distance traveling without resting often. However the wings are vulnerable to injuries and magic; they can also be customized to the user’s preference.

Fight (10 Posts Per User)[]

  • Kiel: The son of Poseidon blasts pressurized water to pierce the sky; he hopes Beckett will notice and draw towards him. Kiel's blue eyes then spots the nearby fishes. He communicates with them, asking for a better map of the park. Meanwhile, underwater, he thinks of his next step.
  • Beckett: Beckett sees the water bursts and redirects himself towards it. He ditches the bike to get closer without being spotted. He approaches the pond and quickly hides in the brush. He notices the Kiel is somehow communicating with the fish in the pond. He assumes it is a Poseidon thing. Beckett sends out a wave of chaos that causes the fish to bicker and fight amongst themselves, distracting them from whatever they were trying to accomplish. This drained Beckett considerably, as his powers are usable but not well tuned and practiced.
  • Kiel: The fishes start jumping from one topic to another, making Kiel irritated from the chaos. It then snapped into his mind: son of Eris, goddess of chaos. This made Kiel alerted. Being at the ground of a 15 ft. deep pond, he water travels to a fountain on the other side of the bushes. The son of Poseidon sits on the penny-filled floor of the new water source. Knowing the fishes will only distract him, he cuts off his telepathy for a moment. He then scans the area. Once he notices slight movement from the nearby bush, Zaphkiel then shoots high-pressured blast of water towards the spot. At first, he wanted to conjure a water dagger but it might cause death or fail from inaccuracy.
  • Beckett: Beckett smiles, noticing his plan had worked. He assumes Kiel is still at the bottom of the lake. A blast of water hits him in the side. Beckett goes spinning off into the deeper woods, pain radiating through the left side of his body. He draws his swords and backs up against a tall rock for protection. He knows the fatigue from his powers would wear off soon. He examines the blast spot and sees a large bruise and small patches of blood. He knows the injury will definitely cause problems, but no serious damage in the long term. Beckett decides to wait out for a moment until his power fatigue wears off. He looks around at the pond, then to other places of water where Kiel might be hiding. A small disruption in a fountain catches his eye. Beckett then realised that Kiel could travel through water as a son of Poseidon. He watches the fountain closely for any signal that he had moved again.
  • Kiel: Damn it. The son of Poseidon spots Beckett fleeing; to taunt him, Kiel waves his hand in the air and uses a tone of mockery. "Are you going to stay in hiding, kid? How cute." He sneers. Noting that hand to hand combat is less advantageous against a son of Eris, Kiel plans to intimidate and draw the Beck towards him; yet, he is given little options. While deciding, he swiftly picks up a few (10) antique coins, rubs them together, and places them in his pocket (a sign of his usual greedy self). The son of Poseidon then steps out of the water, where he doesn't dry himself. Kiel transforms his earrings into a his twin hooked swords and gradually walks towards the forests. In case of a surprise attack, Kiel is careful not to exceed 20 feet away from the water fountain. Other than claiming a cautious, steady footing, he also raises his right sword upward and moves his left sword across his abdomen to form a counter-defense form.
  • Beckett: The power fatigue lessens to the point where Beckett now feels he can fight at a normal pace and use a small power-related attack or defense if need be. He hears Kiel talking, taunting him. He chooses not to engage in a frontward blunt attack, and instead decides to scales a tree in front of him so that he can jump down in front, or perhaps onto, Kiel as he walks by. In the tree, he calls out to Kiel. "Hey! I'm over here. Let's get it over with, or do you not fight people unless you have a fountain to jump into?"
  • Kiel: The taunting voice instantly catches Kiel's attention. Beckett, who was currently on a branch (if I comprehended correctly), was a meter away from Kiel. Proven wrong of his expectations, where the son of Eris would rashly attack, the boy mentally commended the son of Eris for a split second. Having multiple spars with his demigod mother, Kiel is barely drained, and he plans to push limits today. In reply, the son of Poseidon chuckles teasingly and admits his need for control. "Preferably the later but people don't always get what they want." Since he didn't dry himself, Kiel makes use the water ON his skin to create two octopus-like tentacles. The right tentacle is concentrated and pressurized to be as sharp as a knife, aiming for the branch; it aims to break the branch and drop Beckett a few meters to the ground. Meanwhile, the left tentacle takes its place on the ground; in case the son of Eris will attempt to attack, this comes in handy for Kiel's defense.
  • Beckett: Beckett looks down at Kiel and watches him shoot tentacles of water at him. He sees Kiel aiming for his branch and attempts to leap to another branch below him, barely suceeding. Beckett takes note of the second tentacle at the ground waiting for an attack. He feints a jump to the right, hoping for a split second distraction, then falls to the ground, ignoring the water tentacle. He uses his powers to decrease the strength of Kiel, then rushes at him, swords drawn.
  • Kiel: Falling for the diversion, the son of Poseidon shifts his gaze towards the right branch; howbeit, it doesn't take much time for him to realize his mistake. Suddenly, his body felt lethargic, which signaled alertness into the boy's mind---he was being manipulated. When Beck rushed towards him, Kiel turns his body in a 45 degree angle; thus, the sword slashes his covered chest. The was a moderate cut on his breastplate and a light cut on his skin. As Beck passed by him, Kiel tries to counter by hooking Beck's foot with his right and slashing him on the thighs with his left one. "Oh f->.>" With little concern whether his attacks did hit, he curses. Knowing the effects of Beck's powers are temporary, he doesn't run. The son of Poseidon believes he can parry with Beck's sword or flee towards the electronics shop using the waters any time. How much do I have to lose? He backs up a few (approximately five) meters away from Beck and stands defensively.
  • Beckett: Beckett rushes by, slashing at Kiel's chest. He feels overjooyed that he landed a hit and continues his run past him. Suddenly, something catches him in the foot and a sword drawns a fine line of blood on his leg. He collapses but quickly gets up again. He glances at the cut for a moment and sees that it isn't serious. It doesn't hurt him to the point that it interferes with it fighting, but he knows he shouldn't let Kiel hit him in the same spot again. The power fatigue returns, but not as strong as before. Maybe it's the means to which I use my powers by that determines the reaction, he thinks. He turns around and he sees Kiel in a defensive position. Beckett comes at him again using his left sword to slash at his thighs and his right to stab at Kiel's shoulder. He hopes that Kiel won't be able to block two attacks at once.
  • OOC: I am dropping out, You haven't responded in a long time and I haven't been able to use my character since. Sorry, maybe we can do this some other time.
