A contest? What’s that? Yes we are aware its been awhile since a contest has actually been ran…
Now myself and the former AD team/current R&D team (mainly Oli and I) have been contemplating on bringing back contests for quite some time now, but we always fear that the current user base wouldn’t support any sort of contest or event. This doesn’t stem from you personally (before the accusation of shade being thrown is made >.>) but rather in the past we’ve asked users what contests they’ve wanted and, based on what they say, we make them thinking that the said users will enter. More often than not, this wasn’t the case and it eventually got to the point where not enough people entered for it to be a contest (we literally had people winning contests because they were the only ones who entered). However, following constant discussions in chat and many users perking up to the idea of contests being ran again, the current R&D team have come together (mainly Brocky and I; joint writing cx) and decided that contests will be ran again/trialled.
After brainstorming some ideas, we thought it’d be best if you guys, the user base, got to decide on the fate of contests. And so the point of this vote will not only be to see if you guys want to have contests running again, but also to see which one will be trialled first to see if there is enough interest in running more following it.
We realise that our user base currently consists of a mix of users who know how contests work and users who don’t. For the benefit of those who’re new and don’t, here’s how we ran contests. Contests were split into two categories: monthly and special. Monthly contests were ran each month in the same style as the God/Goddess of the Month contest. Special contests, on the other hand, were spread out more over the year and were only ran once or twice a year. Due to this, we have decided that the trialled contest will be selected from a pool of the two types of contests.
Thank you in advance from the R&D department for voting and we hope to see the revival of contests!
Brocky Good morning, campers! ❤
Oli Move over sis, it's Jan! ❤

Character Contest[]
Traditionally in this contest a cabin with a low cabin count would be selected for the entrees to create a character for. However Brocky and myself have been considering not confining to just cabins with a low cabin count as this would broaden the amount of those who enter.

Character Theme Contest[]
So you may be wondering what is the difference between the Character Theme Contest and Character Contest? Unlike the Cabin Contest, the Character Theme Contest chooses a certain theme of a god/goddess. Therefore, entries can have larger options of god parents, as long as it fits the theme. This contest is open to both camp demigods and Broken Covenant demigods.

Cabin Symbolic Theme Contest[]
On all of the cabin pages, all of them have a special colour scheme and a picture of the patron god, some even have a picture of what the cabin looks like, though some aren't that good. So this is to personalise our wiki and the cabins. You will create a picture that will represent the cabin chosen for the month. As not everyone may be good at making pictures of cabins themselves, it can be of anything you want, as long as it represents that cabin.

Twin Demigod Contest[]
Pair up with another user and work together to create twins demigods, any cabin, BC or Camp. However, if you do choose BC, and win, you will still have to go through the claiming process for the actual faction and have the ideology approved by the faction leader. They can also be any god/goddess. Please know however, if this contest is chosen to be the one two come back, it is only considered a special contest so it will not be ran monthly.

Agreed, but who would be judging these contests? I fear that (like in the wiki's past), certain users will judge and prioritise other people's entries over others. Feel like we need to sort this out across the wiki, ESPECIALLY as R&D is a very small department.
To the best of my knowledge, prioritizing a person's entry has never been a problem and never will. The contests are judged by three members of the admin team, all three positions are able to judge the contests regardless of their department, they just need to come to me and ask to judge. Even helpers who are wanting to join an event based department can judge a more minuscule contest.
